Good morning all tried searching for this already. I rather stupidly reversed my car on a empty car park at work into a metal clad portakabin which has dented, distorted the plastic on my rear bumper. Looking at doing the repair myself gonna need to sand it flush and fill then respray. Main reason I need to remove bumper is there is a slight protrusion which I suspect will be a rear protection beam which may need replacing or could be bashed back into shape.

Any help would be appreciated, I have thought about using a doorstep paint repair company but don't think they will remove bumper.

Before removing the bumper, you could always try very gently heating the dent.

If you're lucky it will pop back to its original shape. It may need some gentle persuasion from the back though!

Cheers Ahl but unfortunately I whacked it with some force that it has stretched a bit and caused the paint to crack.

You may be surprised - on my last car one side of my bumper was caved in after hitting an unfortunate but stealthy animal at 40mph.

Heating it up allowed it to pop back into shape (with a bit of encouragement). The paint was still wrecked, but it was a good result.
