Stage 1 Remap Figures

Hi guys, last week I got a stage 1 remap on my LCR and was just wondering if these figures I got are correct. Before I list before and after figures, am gonna list what mods I got. So far I got a badger 5 induction kit and forge 007p. Basically the minimum requirement for a stage 1 remap. Everything else on her is standard.

She was producing 215 bhp and 219lb/ft before the remap and I was using normal unleaded. Obviously I chucked V Power before I went for remap.

After remap she is now producing 248 BHP and 277 lb/ft. It states on my remap printout that its unadapted mixed octane. Will she produce a little more than 250 after adapting? Its just that some forums I read and some people got more BHP on a stage 1 remap with similar or even less mods then what I got.

I mean she definetly pulls a lot harder than before and am pretty happy with the power output so far. Are these figures right?

There are no minimum mods for stage 1.... its a generic map based on the stock engine. 007p can leak so things might be better with the OEM valve.

Filling up with v power on the day wont help... car needs a couple of tanks to adapt so the map would have been limited by this. It will adapt over time.

Whos map is it? The figures sound fair considering the weak fuel, I wouldn't get too hung up on the numbers as dynos can vary.

Was the car tested for faults/leaks?

Ok things might be better with OEM valve? Why is uprading OEM valve is advisable before remap then if it can leak? I wish I did a bit more research before remap. Anyway, I used normal unleaded right up to the day I remapped. I have checked the car for leaks and any split pipes and found nothing. I would assume AMD also checked before remap and was also tested for fault codes. About 1 month before remap I had engine management light came on and got it connected and it listed Camshaft Sensor fault. That was then cleared and never came back on again. The car seems to be running perfect since the remap but its just the fact that I could barely get 250 bhp is whats been bugging me.

I was strongly advised to change my stock DV to forge 007p before mapping as they said original would not hold boost (established tuner in hinkley) and they didnt supply them either so I bought myself and they fitted for free ? Stage 1 lc

A stock diaphram valve in good condition will hold upto 2bar afaik. Have a look here for the 007p problems

Ive used the stock valve on mine without issue

Just to mention I understand that forge are upgrading pistons in their valves so if its new it could be fine , if its older then its worth servicing the valve and fitting the newer piston.

niki is the master of 1.8ts but its a properly working oem dv will hold 2bar of boost without leaking and recovery/react quicker than forge 007p its not only about the holding boost its the rate of recovery also to consider. there is this misconception dv's will give or loss you power they shouldn't , you need to find what the function of dv actually is , if you have oem dv and its failed or not working correctly , i'd go the stealers and get another its cheaper than forge 007p and will perform the same function and the new revised ones don't fail

1 more silly question, I bought my 007p about 3 weeks ago. Is there any way to find out if it has the upgraded piston?

Have you spoke to Awesome GTI about it as yet?

Best to check with them and see if they would have had yours in from a while back or recent from Forge. I don't know too much about the new piston and never had it on my 007p in nearly 3 years on my stage 2 LCR with no issue of it leaking. I bought an 008 just to see what the difference is and it seems 'more responsive' to me.
