Apr better than revo???
. And they are not - it boils down to opinion, much like the old Ford vs Vauxhall arguments on the VXR and ST/RS forums. but if it down to how you said it Al I think APR is miles ahead of Revo
We spoke about this at the weekend Irfan. I don't agree especially given their representation in Scotland.
Al, what has the quality of code got to do with Scottish dealer representation?
I hope they do sort out their representation issues Irfan, for the benefit of us all.
For what its worth, I know first hand that product development is forever on going in every tuning company, including Revo - none are perfect. I am pretty sure that for every supposed reported case of Revo blaming the car there will be another person who was abandoned when APR left the UK for several years just recently. I hope for those who are pushing APR like mad now that they actually stay here this time.
Remember that the early APR maps in the UK were reported to be weak etc etc. I bet very few, if any of those original APR maps still exist on the cars they were installed on. Same difference ultimately.

OK my bad for the APR detail and UK coverage. I live in North Scotland and am none the wiser to it all anyway. Apologies for stating an incorrect fact.
With regard to the consistent REVO blaming the car detail, this is not soemthing I have seen. Sure, the code may well have not be optimal, same as Bluefin, GIAC, APR or any other code for that matter. Thats why they all evolve. Microsoft and McAfee update their software a lot more regulalry than any of them though eh
For what its worth, I know of 3 cars all running REVO beta maps (and have been in them all), and all the issues you listed above regarding fuelling flat spots etc etc etc are absolutely nowhere to be found Pov. And to be fair, the issues you keep mentioning are not that widely reported on the scale of things and you know the same as me that cars that had code other than revo also suffered the highlighted symptoms.
Oh, and all 3 cars with the Revo beta code drive superbly and are very fast![]()
The Revo beta maps are development maps and not yet available to the public. The map they have been selling are buggy. In hindsight I should have got a full refund for the Revo map as it didn't do as advertised, one of the claims being that it's smoother than standard which it isn't.
The other thing with these Revo beta maps is that they will now be a unknown quantity. No facts or figures to back up to say if it's a fast and safe map.
As for the flatspot not widely being reported I'd disagree. Again alot of people have complained about it on mk5gti.co.uk and vwvortex, alot of people will only discuss it via private messages, and lastly it doesn't rear it's head in first second gear, rarely in third but mostly 4th, 5th and 6th, law breaking jail time speeds which alot of people in the UK won't get up to.
That aside, why should someone want to do business with a company that's behaving dishonestly towards its customers?
.And to the OP - take Poverty's anti-revo feelings with a large pinch of salt. They seem to pop up on here a lot more often than not![]()

Bit like a broken record is our Pov and he really likes to get the boot in to Revo.
Constructive reply there Al.
You don't care about your car having a flat spot. We get this now.
My car has no flat spot![]()
