i don't know what the 0-60 is on a stage two cupra tdi but a standerd 220t 0-60 is 6.2 secs which is very qwick for a rover lol all that rover needs is a remap and its one unberlivably fast car

ok thx guys i suppose weight is my big factor btw i dont hav a leon im in a golf tdi but as i understand its the same engine

hope its ok for me to post on these forums as its mainly the engine im looking at and tbh not many people hav tuned the golf 170 or they dont seem to hav

and the golf weighs even more than the leon

btw u said the 220 coupe is like 50bhp per tone more but wouldent the coupe only hav like 150 torque at max rpm

were as i would still hav around 230 torque at 4500 rpm

so even tho the car weighs more with the increased talk thru out the rev range you would of thort that would make up the difrence

but yer does seem like the 220 coupe is a rapid thing and for the money they cost well i doubt you could go faster for cheeper

on a straight road though without much weight etc torque plays less of a part.Yes the low down intial torque can help out of bends etc, thats why some touring car drivers like the diesels.but a petrol on its powerband high up the rev range will nearly always beat the low down torque of a diesel.Torque just makes it easier to use the available power if that makes sense.like i said find a big hill and fill each car with blokes and youll out pull him up the hill lol.

i am looking at a way to get a bit more power mayb fiting a FMIC but im unsure if the standard FMIC is even a restriction

dont realy want to be buying new injectors nozzles and turbo tho

any ideas ?

no point looking at an uprated intercooler until silly power. With diesels you are limited once you get past the exhaust(de-cat,de-dpf) map to suit/filter without going down the bigger turbo, injector route etc.You can get cams re-profiled etc but again no point unless doing the turbo/injectors. Quickest way to get bang for buck, go for NOS lol for them little drag races.

i rly belive my car is on a stage 1 and i had it back for it checking and said it was ok so i had to book it in for a dyno with jbs to try and prove to them somthing is wrong

it has the milltek dpf delete full free flowing exhaust and made 201 bhp and 320 torque on dyno dynamics to me that sounds spot on for a stage one mape

my recipt i got from jbs also says phase 2 software

I thought the stage 2 was a replacement turbo as well as a decat and map? Or am I wrong.

Fish

Fish

as far as i am aware on this engine a stage 2 is just the removal of the dpf and free flowing exhaust

i want to do a few more mods but im unsure what will be most cost effective

a standard cupra 0-60 is only 6.4 so the rover is faster lol

Yeh just cas your leon is newer doesnt mean it is faster than some of the old turboed cars like the rover.

Look at the likes of Escort Turbos and Sierra Cosworths etc... They are so bluddy quick because they don't weigh much at all whereas a leon mk2 in comparison weighs about the same as the earth!

However like i said earlier in the post I know which one I would rather crash in :D

Tuning any further than stage 2 is going to cost you, these injectors are only suppose to be good for the equivalant of 240-250 bhp, as is the turbo.
You will have to replace the injectors at great cost and get a bigger turbo to spool more air. But on top of that you will then have to uprate your clutch, get a Limited Slip Diff and at that you will be talking an easy £3500-£4000. You will see about 280 bhp as the engine liners, components etc are only good for upto 300 bhp.

The requested boost from a WILD stage 2 map should equate to 220bhp minimum all day long

thanks for that well the big test is this thursday i just dont feel the car is running properly mayb its not even jbs fault and its a fault with the engine but if this realy is 220 bhp im very disapointed with it

its not that i expect to win the coupe 220 but wen he goes past me its teh same feeling as been on the m1 crusing at 60 and a police car flys past you to me if hes at 230 and im at 220 yer he should pull away but not at such speeds that he does

ther isent any blame goin out to any one atm its just when u no ur car rly dosent perform and i am comparing it to my old 306 hdi that i did a lot of work to

306 runing 153
this car is suposed to be around 220

well i 100% feel its no were neer a 70bhp increse

up the same hill from a standing start the 306 did

83mph

this car rly strugles to even match it at around 81mph

mayb the speedo in the 306 was way off compared to curent tec? but it rly dosent feel 70bhp more

im just trying to problem solve and im sorry if i hav annoyed any one

well if you use the pugs as an example of how weight effects performance.if you compare a 206 90bhp hdi agaisnt a 307 90bhp hdi

206 weighs 1145kg and hits 60 in 11.2
307 weighs 1260kg(a fat passenger more) and hits 60 in 12.6.

the leon fr diesel weighs 1415kg! (numbers all off parkers)

kk thx for that seems like a 1 second difrence per 100kg

seems the best mod now would be to start striping it out but tbh ther isent rly anything to take out

I would say if you want faster...change for the petrol leon instead...

true but i do prefer derv deep down and just want the most from the car nothing beter than beating sum1 in a derv its worth the strugle to make it fast

but in all onisty i dont think the car is running properly if people are saying they get 220 to 235bhp from a stage 2 i only got 200 bhp on dyno dynamics

now mayb if the car isent runing properly and is only runing 200 and i get it to 220 then ill be very happy :) as ther will be a huge difrence
