not sure if this is a problem or not. Any way noticed yesterday that there was a louder than usual woosshing of air coming from what sounds like the base of the windscreen when the turbo kicks in:confused:. Normally don't notice it as the stereo is on loud, but sounds louder than it used to (have driven around in the past with the windows down listening to the turbo spool up and venting). Haven't noticed any drop off in power or performance.
Had a quick look around the engine bay and couldn't see any obvious split hoses. problem is the turbo doesn't spool up when stationary (clutch in and reving to 3K rpm.
any ideas or is it really just the "normal" turbo sound?

I noticed something similar this week since getting my new engine fitted...

For me, if doing 40MPH+ the 'whooshing' noise, as it were, seems to respond to the throttle, and at least gave the impression that it was coming from under the steering wheel!

I had a PD115 block and 130 head before, and hadn't ever noticed anything like it.

Bizzaro! ;o)

Just had another look as there didn't seem to be the usual kick, anyway have found a hole in the main pipe from the turbo to the inlet manifold (the 4 inch pipe running rom the front lower part of the engine up to the upper back. The hole is just by the joint as it connects to the manifold. Have to source a new one then.
