Star Performance remap RR Results

Had my cupra remapped by star performance today, engine is standard with only 007p valve on, Bhp figure seems quite low but they advertise to give around 190bhp now on their website, torque figure seems very high tho?

It pulls very nicely in every gear and feels damn quick, ive never driven another mapped ibiza to compare it though.any thoughts? what power/torque have other people gained? It made 161bhp and 160lb-ft as standard btw.
Was pleased by the service offered up there, wouldnt hesitate to return, just a bit of a journey from me!

Jim must have changed his maps, as 250lbft @ 3k sounds like its boosting like a mofo!!! Probably the excess heat has brough down the bhp.

My old mk3 make 210lbft @ 5k, and 200bhp @ 5.5k, peaking at 15psi!

Ive read about results nearer to 200bhp on here from a few people who have gone to star, i forgot to add that. just wondering why the difference

Simon, hows it goin, u logged my mates black S3 a while back remember? Its Russell. I have an NJ75F valve waiting to go on, will this smooth out the torque delivery maybe?

Alright mate! Didnt realise that was you.

The reason its making low bhp is that its making loads of torque through loads of boost.

Loads of boost = lots of heat = less power high up.

If you were to stick a FMIC on there, or some WMI that would help out!

The N75 wont make a huge amount of difference, unless ou are currently running a N75J.

450 for the map mat. Will swap the N75 over tommorow see if theres any difference, im pleased with it, altough im struggling for grip in the wet quite badly.decent tyres next up. whats WMI? Hows the TT going? much else done apart from revo?

WMI is Water Methanol Injection

sounds like a pretty decent figure and if you love driving it thats all that matters

WMI is water mist injection. Water sprayed into the TB on boost to reduce intake temps.

TT is going well. Standard apart from Revo, and thats the way its staying!!

possibly slightly low as the car itself is pretty much standard, i put mine into star, drives like a dream! spikes boost at 22psi since i put fmic on holds about 17-18psi..

will have a rr printout shortly of power figures now but before it was mapped was 181bhp @ 207ft.lb, i would like to think its now roughly 200+bhp with approx 240ft.lb, drives like a totally different car! very aggressive boost!

mine is jims.. went out on a quick drive on the roads nearby and was tuned whilst driving.. popped a boost hose off when i went out lol

You sure he wasn't just checking it after he uploaded the map?

Not 100% but he was able to tweak it after we got the boost hose securely on.. from 1.2 bar upto 1.3 bar..

Considering your car is standard with no downpipe, exhaust, induction kit, intercooler, etc. etc. I'd say those figures are pretty darn good, stick on an induction kit and turbo-back system and you'll see near your 200bhp. Remember the K03 turbo is tiny too!!!
