Drove the car today, warning light came back on.

Noticed car drinking bit more fuel, only went from NW6 London to Wembley, gauge has moved quite a bit.

Also noticed outside strong smell of fuel, never noticed this before.

What do you guys think, leaking pipe somewhere?

If you have a fault with the EVAP system then i expect it is constantly venting fuel fumes when it shouldn't be.

You need to check out the N80 and N115 valves. You can certainly perform an output test on the N80 purge valve using VCDS but I'm not sure about the N115 solenoid valve without checking. Alternatively just replace the N80 valve with a new one in the hope that this is the cause of the problem. I think they are relatively cheap.

It's also possible that you have a snapped pipe on the carbon canister. Check out the following thread on how to check this...

Thanks man.

Proper science in this!

I checked the pipes as much in knowledged to do, all seems pretty tight.

But with all this possible pinpoints, cars gonna be going back to dealer so he's gonna have a big list to get through. Should come back running great!

Car gone into dealers with a list of stuff to sort out. Gave me a mondeo to drive around which seems like a hearse. 157000 miles, sounds like it's going to give up. Any second

P0144 issue come back, not sure if it makes the car drink a bit more fuel. Ordered an N80 valve for £30 from Tps, gonna change it myself tomorrow. Looks easy enough.

I'm currently chasing this P0441 error on my K1 but so far no luck. I've changed the N80 purge valve and petrol cap and it's still occurring daily. I have a new charcoal canister on route so fingers crossed it will resolve my issue. Out of curiosity what year is your car (wonder if the charcoal has a shelf life)?

Mines a 2007. Still getting it everyday. I've got my mechanic to order it for me, trade price so I'm gonna get it fitted it. Hopefully that issue doesn't come back. Tell me something, since that issue, does ur car consume more fuel?

What I should have said is that I've had the code occurring for that long that I cannot remember how my MPG was before the fault started, but from memory I believe it was average 1-2 MPG less. Afterall its a code relating to the fuel system so it makes sense.

Let us know when you fit your charcoal canister, hopefully it fixes your issue.
