Steering and Braking

I understand the abs kicks in and you get a vibration on the pedal - but it seems car doesnt stop as well as it should -

The other day i was accelerating to about 20-25 mph and this driver(to55ser) pulled out in front of me from the right so i slammed the breaks and car breaked very slowly, abs kicked in and i steered around the other driver - all well

just seems maybe i should have been able to slow down to a stop rather then having to swerve around him -

When i brake progressively it doesnt seem to slow down a hell of alot until i push it hard but then the abs kicks in -

standard breaks - cant afford brembos at present - EBC disks and green stuff pads - i know they arnt the best but they came with the car when i brought it

Steering - seems to pull (left/right) randomely when i accelerate fast or try to break - Ideas? i also get a knocking noise (comes and goes) when i steer either direction - connected?

cheers

Firstly, you Bought the car not Brought! (Sorry but its a pet hate!)

Are you sure its not warped disks, and not the ABS kicking in?

ABS will be a very very rapid, short sharp juddering feel.

Plus EBC wont help at all! I've had them for a few thousand miles, and they are crap! I went back to standard.
Pads aint bad, disks are shocking.

it took me 3 attempts to get a gcse in english - what did you expect? lol

they are squealing like hell at the moment - i had a look the disk/pads and there is plenty on them - going to clean in a bid to get rid of any brake dust -
failing that, will change them completely -

which brake disks and pads does everyone use???....lol.... just kidding -

anything on the steering scenario?

cheers

bear in mind you'd have to warm up the green stuff pads before they work well. my pagids are crap until they're warm.

i had a nice run on the m4 to heathrow which got them warmed up - did notice a improvement but probably time for a new set of disks/pads

cheers
