I have a squeak coming from the steering column when i turn the steering wheel or it hits a bump in the road.

Its definetely coming from inside the car. Is there anything in the steering column (e.g spring etc) that could be squeaking??

Thanks in advance.

I had the bushes and bearing / bottom joint changed on mine a couple of months back, Parts were about £5 from SEAT. My mate did them for me and said they were a bit of a bitch but he did them on local garage time and only cost me an hours labour so can't have been that bad for him

Hi Anthony,

I cannot remember how much new bushses were but I don't think they were expensive otherwise I would probably remeber or gone the whole column route myself. I think they were a dealer only part and the only dealer in South West Wales at that time was reymond's garage in Pontyberam. Sorry I can't remember anymore. I always found Reymond's very helpful and knowledgableas they are a family owned franchise type garage as apose to a huge main dealer. Maybe worth giving them a call and seeing if they will post them out to you, If not they will give you the relevant part numbers to take to your local dealer. As for fitting a friend who is a mechanic did this in 1-2 hours at his garage but is not a specialist just an everyday do anything kind of guy so i'm sure a local garage would be able to do the same or take it back to the place that did the pedalbox anyway.

Hope this helps,

Phil
