as the thread title says.

when i brake fairly sharp the steering wheel judders.

anyone have a clue?

does it pull to one side?if so it is most likely a brake imbalance. if not it could be something to do with your steering rack maybe?

Warped discs? would i feel that in the steering when i brake sharp?

it feels like steering rack but im not sure.

may have to get it checked out but cant really afford it lol

To check for warped discs drive at a steady speed and then gently press the brake pedal and if your discs are warped you will feel the pedal pulsating slightly.

warped discs can give a kicking feed back thru the steering wheel aswell.

if your anywhere near manchester, you could always call in to awesome gti and we will take a look for you. or just a road test with you in your car.

Hmm juddering would be warped disks but jerking could be anything, is there any free play in the steering? coul indicate track rod end, bottom ball joint loose which would may cause that effect, any knocking noises, easyest was is to jack the car up and move side to side and up and down, if there is no play in eather side, then i would star to look at the brakes.

well there is no knocking noises and when i brake i dont get any pulsating through the pedal.
when i brake sharp the whole wheel moves up a bit. as if the clasp has not been closed when adjusting steering height. but this only happens when i hit the brake hard.

so i was thinking more on the line of, track rod end or sumthing but ill jack it up at the weekend and keep yas posted.
