Hello,

I have a standard MK1 FR steering wheel and yeah i find it kind of boring. Been looking at the MK2 FR wheel as that is much more attractive (even with buttons that i would not really want)

So my question(s)

Will a MK2 wheel fit on a MK1 FR?
How much is an air bag for the wheel?
If i take my wheel off can i use the air bag on the new wheel?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Im not sure if you can use the airbag on the mk2 wheel as the airbag system has its own ECU but it might work. I would like to risk it though. But i suppose you could try it but make sure your well away from any airbags when battery is connected back up just to make sure. I couldnt see why the mk2 wheel wouldnt fit though. Try it! :D Try and find someone who is willing to remove theres and fit it and say you will pay for a new airbag if it goes off. :D

Mk1 air bag wont fit a Mk2 wheel they are different shape as you can see HERE the splines may be the same you would have to take a chance on that, to be honest i would get a LCR 225 steering wheel at least you know it fits and you can use your air bag.

FYI I had a mk2 fr wheel on mine

Fits straight on but the wheel plus airbag will run you around 350-400 (unless you find a bargain)

I now have a momo.

Ah sweet. I have seen them on eBay going for that sort of price. Will now keep my eye out for sure.

The red band at the top on the Cupra one is fine by me as i have changed my FR interior to have:

Cupra R Handbrake
Cupra R Gear Gaiter with FR Know
Cupra R Air Vents

Just would like the MK2 FR wheel to finish that off.
