steering when turning left very tight and then a bang!

Hi Guys, Need some help/advise........ When leaving my street i turned left and the steering become very tight and then i heard a big bang!
stopped and got out and couldnt see anything....car drives fine and goes left to right on full lock fine.

I noticed that on my journey to work when i go over bumps/potholes etc on the o/s with the o/s front wheel there is a rattle, which werent there yesterday. No rattle when i go over bumps etc on n/s with n/s front wheel.

Car not dropped, cant tell if its spring thats snapped as corner not dropped and no visable signs of anything in arch or under bonnet.

Any ideas?

Definately a broken coil, happened to me a few weeks ago... an absolute b*****d to get off :-(

sounds like mine just now, its doin ma head in but a great excuse to get the coilies ordered lol

It took nearly 8 hours to get the broken one off and the new standard one on because of where it had broken... Needless to say I had a lot of thankyou's to say to my helpers as at times I just didn't have the physical strenght to get it off.
