Hi, I've had a look around, and it's probably going to be too difficult to do...

Is it possible to retrofit a stalk to control a stereo with? I currently have a Kenwood unit and would love to control my stereo with a stalk or if possible, steering wheel controls. Anyone know of a retrofit solution?

Unfortunately that's no good, I don't have OEM controls, is there anyway of retrofitting OEM controls?

If you had a Sony stereo then you could fit the RM-X4S remote.
Fitted it myself in a few minutes and blimey, it's useful.
Looks sth like this

Ah, shame I hate Sony stereos... :(

Is there no way that you could possibly take the stalk controls from another car, say a Peugeot, and put them in a Seat?

Or is that crazy talk?

Each manufacturer will have their own way of controlling the head unit. Following your example, if you had a Peugeot head unit then you might be able to get the stalk controls to work with it. But a Pug stalk wouldn't even know the SEAT head unit was there!

In the same way, most aftermarket head unit manufacturers have some sort of control that can communicate with a range of their own devices, but no others.

There is some overlap, for example I remember a Kenwood remote could control a particular Vauxhall CD head unit. But that is quite rare.

If you have a Kenwood head unit, then the second link Adam provided would be your best bet.
