Stereo Removal Bocanegra

Hi All,

Anyone had the stereo out on their mk5 Ibiza yet?
I can't work out how it unlocks - I can't see the little slots like on the mk4.
How does it come out?

I've just got myself a nice new Bocanegra, but I need to fit a car kit for my phone.

I used a 20 - Torx bit to get mine out

I now have the surround off, just like the photo.
I used a plastic spoon to prise it off in the end - seemed to work well and no scratches.

I have ordered a Parrot ikm9000 and the adapter cable required, will fit it in the week.
Looks like it should be a good setup - will leave the existing stereo and stalk controls intact and give me proper hands-free, and only 105 quid all in.

does the surround just pop off and click back on? theres no screws that need to be undone?

No screws - it just pops off.
Needs a fair bit of force and I broke one of the tabs taking it out.
But you can't see that when it is back in - plenty of tabs still left intact.

(you will need to use the torx screwdriver to get the unit out though - but not to get the surround off)

I still haven't fitted the parrot kit yet - waiting for a connector from ebay to get at the elusive mute pin on the stereo.
