Stiff Accelerator Pedal

Half way to work, and pulling away from roundabout, pedal suddenly very stiff to press. Thought the mat must have gone behind or something. Nothing obvious. Didn't seem as bad on the way home, but still not right. Never happened before. FR TDI 32k miles (all mine !)

Anyone had this happen before ?

Same thing happened to my FR TDI on the way home tonight, its now in the stealers. First thought it had gone into limp mode but now think it must be the accelerator box, no warning lights on dash. Did you find out what the problem was?

Check for a small stone lodged behind pedal plate!

I think bmb779 is probably right. Mine cleared itself kind of as suddenly as it had started after a couple of days. I had breaked quite sharply before it happened (and I don't 'hoover' often ! ). Did look behind the pedal at the time but didn't really spot anything, but if it was small and tucked away.....

Be interesting to see what the dealer comes up with !

Yes your right it was a stone, I felt such a twat when I went to pick it up.

Glad I waited a while ! I was on my way there at one point .

At least they didn't try to give you some bs and rip you off !!
