Still having issues with the spare wheel foam

Hi,

Been trying to fit the correct foam part for my 2018 estate for longer than I can remember and after getting wrong parts, I finally have the foam which everyone says is the correct one. However, the nut that holds the tyre to the foam cannot screw onto the thread of the bolt. Is there a longer bolt I need that I'm missing or is this again the wrong part? Thanks

I ordered the Spare Wheel kit from the Stealers and it came with a longer bolt/thread thingy. I'll take a look when its stopped raining see if I can get a part number of it.

In that second photo the wheel looks the wrong way round. It should be placed so that you could still put something inside it without unscrewing it. Similar to this...

If you flip it, as the wheel hub will sit lower and you should be able to screw it in.

In my case the sub sits inside the wheel similar to this which is why I have a longer screw, but you shouldn't need one...

Hi Steve
That is not the correct one, the correct one sits inside the upside down wheel , and you use the large plastic screw to hold the wheel down and there is a strap that then holds down the polistryne tool holder

I think it's just the spare wheel I have. I don't think it's a Genuine one but did come with the car so possibly the previous owner bought one for it. The other side of the wheel sticks out too far so it can only go this way unfortunately

In that case, you'll need the longer screw normally used for those with a subwoofer like me.

Let me see if I can find the part number on here.

Looks like that's the wrong wheel for the car. It should not stick out like that. I wouldn't use it. You'll pick up the right one cheaply o eBay.

I used it once for a few miles and had no issues. Not sure if I can suffer the pain of selling it after getting the correct one.

Don't suppose anyone knows where I can find the correct wheel though and how I can tell the difference so I don't buy an incorrect one?

Mk7 Golf one. Or, get a spare alloy. Fits in the hole and you don't need to drive under 50mph. Fit it and forget it until you can get the puncture fixed.
