Basically ive got a LC180 which was mapped to 210 when i got it, but it had a standard system on it, which was rotten and blowing in about 6 places, so i replaced the whole thing from turbo back with a toyosports 3" inch downpipe/decat, and cobra decat back resonated system with 6x4 rear non baffle box.

Then the car began to smoke, blue smoke that stunk of oil, but it would only do it if the car had been sat ticking over for a few minutes, if you just tapped the accelerator it would throw out a cloud of thick blue smoke and then clear, would also do this if sat in traffic then pulled away, and when i took it in for diagnostics and to alter the map to suit the decat it was smoking a little as it came down the revs on the dyno, and for this reason i couldnt get the map adjusted.

So my car is almost on 122k on the original turbo, i sourced a second hand k03s off an accident damaged leon, with around 79k on the clock, believed to be owned by an older man who bumped it.

Fitted it and all was well, feels a lot smoother and crisp to drive and spools up better than the old, but sat in works car park yesterday for about 3 mins ticking over waiting for a space went to pull forward and i got this cloud of blue smoke come past my window :(

Im hoping and hoping some more this is just down to oil in the exhaust that just needs to burn off? It doesnt smell as oily as it did before, if you used to let it tick over with the old turbo and stand behind it, it would stink your clothes out within minutes of a burnt oil stench.

Only other thing is its overfuelling due to a **** map, and because if decat it its not running right but booked in for remap 1st of next month.

Any ideas? Oil lines were fine going to the turbo by the way, i had no oil in any of the intercooler pipes or intake/boost pipes, hot and cold sides.

black smoke=over fueling (running rich), blue=burning oil (cause could be valve stems), piston rings, blue and white together normally=turbo seals are gone

over fuelling = bore wash = crap seal on rings oil gets burnt.
Badly worn rings normally show in overrun, though overfuelling can create bore wash.
First port of call would be a compression test, but check the breather pipework for blockages etc.
What does it idle like?
Hope it turns out to be inexpensive for you.

I guess ill have to wait till the remap then, see what happens/gets said, like i say it is nowhere near as bad as before, visually or the way it stunk either, just smell petrol now, hasnt used hardly any oil though.

Idles perfect mate, runs perfect, runs a dream even tho its got a crap map on it and running rich, which is weird, cant wait to get it mapped averaging about 25 to the gallon at the minute

If you read the handbook these cars can use up to a litre of oil in 1000km maybe you wouldnt notice with the cat on? how much oil are u consuming if its not excessive then maybe that's what you get decat some cars vary

You would not notice a consumption of 1 liter per 600 miles in this manner though.

Hardly uses any oil, i changed the oil 500 mile ago, and on the dipstick it was bang on the max mark and its virtually still on that.

You have not over filled it have you!
Level should be checked when the oil is hot/warm, that means when filling from cold, fill to the top of the hatched area then when warm its never above the max mark.

Could be oil in exhaust,if it's soaked in the baffles in the back box then it mite not be gettin hot enough after 10miles to burn off, sometimes a blap down motorway is needed to get an exhaust fully oil free

Did another weird thing today, i cruised on a straight A road at around 60 mph for about 10 miles, when i stopped at the lights at the end of this road, i had my window open and thought, whats that smell, looked in the rear view and it was puffing out this smoke like plumes of it by itself, no revs, just on tickover, i thought oh well thats ****ed then, drove away from the lights, chucked a bit more out, then drove for another few miles, stopped at some more lights, no smoke on tickover, got to where i was heading, no smoke on tickover either.. doing my nut in !!

Cheers for the replies, no it wasnt overfilled, how much oil do the AUQ 180 engines hold?
