Stop car locking at 10mph?

Ok I thought it was cool when my car locked itself when I pull off.... at first. But have had the car over a month now and its starting to piss me off. 2 main reason,
first is when you have a group of kids hanging out on the street thinking there bad. I drive pass and my car locks itself and they think there cool cus they scared me into locking my doors! and second is when someone wants to get out they just keep pulling harder and harder on the inside door handle thinking im tryying to trap them in the car, nearly brakeing my handles!
I have a feeling I would need the VAG cable hope not as i hear there well expensive?

it can be removed with vag-com at a dealers or if you ask someone nicely they may beable to help

any tweaks that can be done though VAG COM? like when I pull my keys out of the engine it unlocks my door, can it be made to unlock all doors? or maybe increase the speed which it locks at to like 30MPH? I know I said it pissing me of but its a clever idea just needs a lil improvment

Not that im aware. I think you can only turn auto locking on/off and auto unlocking on/off, not adjust the settings.

Like ripping the handle off will suddenly release the door lock so you can get out!!

FAQ for turning the auto lock/unlock off.

Should probably make an FAQ for the comfort rear wiper as well I supose, unless I missed it. I know its been coverd before but might be usefull to someone.

Comfort rear wiper:

from the main VAG-COM screen go for "Select control module" and on the next screen select "09-Cent. Elect." it will then connect to your cars central electronics menu and you then want to select "Coding" at this point you have two editable fields... the one we are editing is the software coding one. The original code on mines was 00140 ... do add the comfort wipe function I added 8192 to that, so changed the code to 08332 and clicked "Do It!" At this point I clicked "Coding" again to make sure that it had changed. Basically take the key and cable out - start the engine and put your front wipers on and then select reverse gear - the wiper should come on.

My mum is the worst for pulling the door handle! I got in the habit of just after stopping quickly hitting the central locking button on my door so she can get out! I have blip when locking only (so I can walk away and know it is locked without having to look at the indicators flashing as I get paranoid I haven't locked it and end up doing it again otherwise! I didn't want it for unlocking don't like to advertise the fact my car is unlocked. I also have one click to unlock doors and boot and was really pissing me off not unlocking the boot when I have shopping and not clicking the button twice fast enough.
Personally I did not want to disable the auto lock as never know when it is handy been driving a few times and had either road rage of just drunk scary people nearby and glad I am locked in my car! Plus you insurance won't like it if something did happen.

Those other ones seem cool. How much is it for a proper VAG COM cable? plus can anyone recommend a good garage in North London? there was a Seat dealer down the road from me but it closed down about a year ago =(
I plan on getting facelift bumpers fitted and S'less grill, the car already looks mean b4 going near it I just wanna stand out a lil.

I just got a cheapo cable off ebay for ~£15. To do the functions above you will need a registerd version of vag-com which is ~£50 (or was when I got mine).

You can also do things like change the weight of the power steering and log graphs of all sorts of things which is cool!

neat im guessing thats how some people have there MPG showing in there sig?

Thats probably from the trip computer, or by keeping track of the fuel theyve used rather than vag com. I think theres an app online where you type all your fuel and milage in and it calculates it for you and you can insert it in a sig. Most people dont use it the whole time, just to diagnose faults ect. Although in my last car (mk3 ibiza) i built a computer into it which would log into vagcom so I could log as i was driving along if I wanted (sad I know, but I thought it was cool )

I know in my Mk3 when I used the "door lock" button on the drivers console at the side to maually unlock the door for someone when I still had the car running, the next time I started the car etc it wouldn't auto-lock? Might be worth trying before vagcomm.
