Strange but true

Hey all! :help:

To the point; My arosa has been behaving very strange recently. :(

I have had to park a few times on quite a steep hill and the method to park the car is pretty trickky (tight space).

The problem; everytime i get the car on a full lock with the steering it sometimes stalls?

I will be steering into the space and when i steer the wheel to full lock, the battery light shows and it cutts out?

It's fine when on a flat or in a car park but when I arrive to park on the hill in the evenings it does this?

Anyone know why this could be? Battery? P/S pump?

Many Thanks everyone.

Sounds like it could be the battery to me, since its doing it under load.

Batteries can effect them in strange ways if its on its way out.

Have you checked you PS fluid? Just in case

Yeah don't worry, I done all the PS checks like fluid etc prior to posting. Its strange as sometimes it does it, sometimes it dont. Not dont it for a few days so we will see!

Will bear in mind about the batt ;-)

Any joy ? Is it still doing it. Noticed mine did that last week but, might just be something to do with there being hardly any petrol in the car and I was turning sharply.

make sure the throttle body is clean . on full lock the revs drop and its likely the TB is coked up , allowing the engine not to breathe thus stalling . not guaranteed to be this but worth a try

The TB seems to be the cure to everything these days! ;) Ive given it a good clean with loads of degresers, sprays etc (inside and out ;) ) so we will se it that works. I do high mileage so should be able to give feed back pretty soon. Thanks Gm8.

Think the arosa has a pressure switch fitted in one of the pipes to the rack, near gearbox, has been known for wires to break.... other than that, throttle body clean may help.
When mine goes on full lock, the idle speed goes up about 1-200 rpm.

well.... so far, so good.

After cleaning the TB with everything in the garage what was in spray format, it seems to have cured it.

Still don't think it could be the full cause of it tho?

All well, so far - so good!

Thank you all! :funk:

Well.... after not been convinced it was just that I decided to give the thing a hammering tonight on the way home, (power wise!).

When the fault occured the battery light would show, so I drove for an hour with all the electrics going, lights on, heater, stereo on full wack with a tape on etc (yes, before any of you say anything my arosa sport still has the tape player in, but atleast I can say in the darkest places in the U.K it has never been broke into ;) )

And guess what, still no problems!

Hell Yeah!!! :funk:
