Hi,
Came across your problem while browsing for tyres..so i joined ....5 months ago i had the same problem on a mini cooper , i had bearings changed ,i had a new gearbox all under bmw warranty and the noise persisted ... exactly how you described...it turned out to be the rear Dunlop 9000 which although only 40-50 worn had worn slightly more on the inside tread... have a good look
all the best

Did DUNLOP refund your tyres in anyway atall ???
Thanks aload M8...

I wouldnt have never thought of the tyres to be the prob, coz they looked fine.
Until closeup & every other tread on inside & out is worn lower than the next one?
How the F##k can that happen???

Hi, I have read your Thread M8,
What a carryon ur having also eh.
Sounds like a Brake problem or Possible CV joints if your getting noice when cornering & pulling away, Mine has none of these Symtems.
Hoping Dunlop will at the least pay for 1 of the 2 Tyres in my Case.
But what causes this STEPPING of the Tread patterns coz its on both sides of the tyres
???????????????

More lata

Best of Luck

;)

Hi Mate,
Hard to prove cause, it was actually picked up by a mechanic friend who reckoned that the probable cause was speed humps. I did not approach Dunlop but since replacing the tyres the cars been noise free !
