what average gains are you looking at after fitting? as debating between the rifle drilled rods or saving a bit longer for the stroker kit but cant find any figures on a search? cheers :)

The main reason to stroke apart from forging at the sametime is to bring the lag down, this is only really applicable if going big turbo
K04 is very quick spooling so a stroker would be wasted on it if you're staying stock sized turbo

future plan is bigger turbo but dont wana replace untill current turbo is dead just trying to work out if its a better investment and will i need a remap after stroker kit?

You don't actually really need a stroker kit unless you are going for mega power.

400 bhp is possible without a stroker kit ....so do you really need it.?

not when you put it like that but just thought it would be worth doing while the engine is apart. ill just put the extra pennies towards a garrett insted :)

Your right you don't "need" a stroker kit......... But like Tim said earlier most people do it to spool the turbo's sooner.
Also remember an engine is a air pump... The more air you can get through it the more power you will make.

It all depends on how you want the car to drive, increasing the displacement with give you more power off boost and it will spin the turbo up quicker which will give you more usable power across the rev range, some rekon the difference in spool times can be as much as 400-700rpm. Also there's no replacement for displacement :D

For me it made sense for a stroker as my crank, pistons & rods were all goosed.
I went for 2076cc which uses 83mm pistons and a 95.5mm TDI crank.

jus been havin a nose at your thread, that is some work youve done :) think ill ask bill on monday for another opinion and prices :)

put the money towards an efr and dont bother stroking your engine, just stroke the efr goodness when it arrives :p

hmmm im still debating power to money ratio currently at 271 hp and debating a hybrid for price n easy instal etc but still i know i will still crave for more

according to who ? theyre amazing.... end of lol
just look at peoples builds to how fast they spool

Which one do you have.? Manifold.?

I have the EFR8374 with a T4 twin scroll internal wastegate, good for 800bhp :D
I have made a sidewinder manifold for mine as its too big to fit between the engine and bulkhead.

Paul Murphy on here and has a readers ride, he's fitted a smaller one and still in the process of getting it mapped - apparentley its making promising numbers but not quite finished.

The smaller units use a t25 flange so a backdraft or Ina manifold can be used.

price? how much fitted after all other parts and bits needed? also what hp/torq you runnin after?

For mine its hard to say as im building everything myself, but i'm looking for 750bhp.

I would say contact INA, they can supply you with everything you need, just tell them the power you want and they can suggest which one to go for. They have a suppliers area on this forum.

As for price..... It varies, do some searching. I got mine from Treadstone Performance in the states.

Normally the more you buy from these guys the more you save, collecting bits for a BT conversion a bit a time will be more expensive in the end.

Good luck.
