I have just been informed by our staff that we have had problems with you before so I am not surprised now.

I know the lad who runs that forum, so I will drop him an email today and let him know all about you!!!!

Bring it on, maybe they will resolve the problem that I had (and was treated poorly)

they lie in their ad's, have no stock & I presume no cashflow (else they'd not take your money 1st)

Thread title editted, it'll sit at the top of google in no time.

Strutbracer Returns, Unit 12A, Waterfoot Business Centre, Rossendale, Lancashire. BB4 9HU is their returns unit on their website.

It's entirely possible this is a PO BOX or "registered in name only" address - they seem very insistant on being an "internet only" organisation.

nice one thanx alot mork

that'll teach them for pissing me about i wont take it!!

Well their registered as Yates & Bloomfield also!!!

What about a main warning somewhere??

There are no VAT registration numbers & no contact phone numbers... try the company name & post code of Strutbracer or Yates & Bloomfield in Yell.com or BT Directory and nothing comes up for either.

Also, a quick check of both company names on http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk//index.shtml reveals neither are registered...

And, having had a quick scan of their FAQ's, it states they re the UK's largest supplier and have massive stocks, yet a bit further down the page, they say all items are sent via parcelforce worldwide, direct from the factory to your front door!

Firstly, I'd question why they're hiding any form of contact details, other than an e-mail address?

Secondly, if you're buying from one company, why do you have to send payment to someone else?

Thirdly, they're not a VAT registered company. They can't use the excuse they're new, or that they don't get the turnover or whatever, as they've been around since 2003 and they claim to be the largest distributor in the UK!

How do you know they are not VAT registered? As far as I am aware you do not have to be registered with companies house to be VAT registered.

does smell rather fishy doesnt it?? maybe watchdog on the case??

all i know is they are **** treated me like it to and attitude stunk, maybe their a company that are a front for something else and take your money then buy from italy at cheaper then keep the profit but thats a usual company isnt it?

Out of interest .. he's right ( bloke from strutbracer ) the brace mounts in the same place, the track might be wider on the Williams Clio but it hangs from the front subframe in the same place - it's just longer arms out to the wheel and this is a lower strut brace NOT an ARB so the mounts will be the same between the 1.8 and the williams clio.

Still think the bloke appears to have an attitude problem but on a technical note he's quite correct in what he says.

hence why their on the end of the computer, computer tough guys i call them, if i was next door i'd certainly shove it where the sun dont shine..

The problem with internet communication is that there's no emotion behind what your typing so it's very quick and easy getting into a slagging match as you are very much detached from your contact.

Looking at other forums and the feedback from this guy, yes they have very bad customer service and there feedback also shows an interesting trend on dealing with people.

The good thing is that you are covered by the Sales and Goods act 1979

Sale of Goods Act

Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 traders must sell goods that are as described and of satisfactory quality.

If consumers discover that products do not meet these requirements they can reject them and ask for their money back providing they do so quickly. Alternatively, they can request a repair or replacement or claim compensation.

im thinkin we need a SNC meet in Rossendale, Lancashire ;)

wud be funny if they turned up and 20 of us were sittin in their carpark, all in aid to get moff's £8 return postage back of course :)

I would forward them this thread to be honest because I was actually thinking of buying from them. i certainly wont now and I'd rather spend that little extra for that little extra service you would get.

Brigg, you are correct, you are covered by the SoGs act but it doesn't even need to come to this when you buy online. You can just send it back under the distance selling regs, simply for the fact you've changed your mind.

Gives you a chance to inspect the quality of things bought online. Used it before, very useful.
