Well, Ive had my sub for a while now.. and its sounds amazing inside the car, so assummed it will be the same outside and for when i feel like showing off I can...

The other night.. I put it on..shut the door.. to find that it sounded rubbish from the outside.. the boot lid vibrates, well i think its that...

Is there anything I can do to stop the vibrating noise? Its quite loud.. =/

...turn it down?... not sure theres too much more you can do unless you try insulating behind the plastic between that and the metal.

Had this problem on my saxo (i know, i know, but it wasn't as chavvy as people may think).
Try Dynamat or another sound deadening film on the floor of the boot and inside the door panels, and apply some to the back of the numberplate before fixing it back to the car (but not the stuff with the aluminium backing). You can also get sound deadeding spray to get to the hard to reach areas. You Literally just shake the can and spray it in all the nooks and crannies, i used it and it worked a treat.
Hope this helps.........

the boot lid itself?

If i put pressure on the boot lid it will stop vibrating.. that close to what u mean? heh..

Yes, and then also try the dynamat stuff if it isnt the lid. If it is the boot lid as they are pretty flimsy and light, you might need to reinforce it with something heavy. You could put speakers in the shelf or buy a stealth shelf. Although the later are really heavy :( Few options there though to work on.

Yer..theres more that can be done than i thought.. seen a stealth shelf for about 30quid without the carpet...so ill look into that definately.. untill i have £'s for that (well £'s for speakers to go in it), i think ill lower the gain abit for now..

thanks for the TIPS.. :worship:

Lots and lots of Dynamat of similar inder all the plastic panels, and padding on any part which is up against another!

You can spend weeks trying to get rid of every rattle and even then not get all of them though.

Thats the only advice in this thread that will work, been there done that many times.

You need to leave the stereo running fairly loudly, and go round the car, finding exactly where the vibrating noises are coming from.
Number plate is likely to be a good start.

Noise deadening will only help a bit as it's designed to dampen noise, not stop vibrations.
