Do you think there will be much visual difference between the two? I'm guessing the 18s will give a better ride quality.

In my opinion the ride quality with oem 19" are good!
18" might be lighter but the ride will be marginaly improved.

Are we talking about these?

Since what we tried, they were almost half a kilo more than stock 280 5-spoke wheel.

Yes, these wheels from performance pack, ive bought them from local (czech) seat and they are 12kg each. Standard 19 cupra wheels are 13,7kg so there is 1,7kg difference. I took the time to remove the tires and compared both wheels at the same machine.

That's naughty as they are advertised as lighter.

The price on that site though

I bought a spare wheel from that site as needed a spare while I get another repaired. Including shipping at the time the exchange rate was better (before brexit) I paid about £300 for the wheel, £200 cheaper than the UK, with the shipping I saved about £170 on buying a wheel in the UK.

Although I'm still awaiting a £10 refund as they sent it without a wheel centre  so may have to do a PayPal dispute :(

The wheel is 12kg as I weighed it, as said before lighter than the standard 5 spoke wheels, but neither are light.

The 18x7 OZ Superleggeras I had on the MINI were 7.5kg but the wheel spacers for the BBK added extra weight as the calliper clearance is shocking.

When I put my car in it said not compatible. Although I've seen pictures of them on Golfs.

If you're using the eBay site for that, I'd say double check elsewhere. Half the time that says things aren't compatible but are.
