Subwoofer and Standard Stereo

I've been looking into this myself.

I belive you just need Autoleads PC3-11 (search eBay) for about £10, which gives you the RCA's to connect to the sub/amp, aswel as the remote cable connection for turning it on.

Yep it is possible. Just tap the sub signal input onto the stereo pre outs. Dont know about how to do the
remote signal though (to tell the sub to turn on).

Would be easier to buy a head unit with a sub out, then you can alter the levels better and would improve the quality of the sound over using standard Alana unit.

Hey, I am about to do this on mine. Had it installed on the vw equivalent stock HU called a gamma. Just a 2x pre out lead with remote I/O cable needed. Works really well, and actually stopped me buying an aftermarket HU on my lupo & polo. It takes a lot of the low range stress out the speakers and works generally well. Of course an after market will be better, but i don't think, unless a really top end one, will look as good either.

Leads are cheap too. Would recommend this for sure!
