Hi, so I finally got underneath my pd150 today after purchasing in Lincoln 2 weeks ago.

I notice this sensor doesn't have a cable to it yet it has a plug. Would this also explain why my temperature gauge doesn't work or is this the low oil sensor? I'm thinking the latter. I do not see a cable anywhere underneath hanging loose.

My guess is this car has had a hard life in recent times and alot of jobs done on it appears to be bodges.

ARB droplink springs to mind and I'm guessing the bolts for the dog bone have snapped off

Yeah, it's the oil lever sensor so if you don't get a warning light, it's been coded out (or never had one and that's a sump from one that did).

Lots of fun stuff going on under there, depends how much work you want to do

So basically do not worry about it then. Why wouldn't the car have an oil level warning light however? Thought that was standard many years ago?

Yes well the subframe and steering rack are getting changed. I have poly bushes for metal drop links though looking at a custom rose joint setup coming off a bolt added to the TT arms I'm going to poly bush and fit.

Brakes are going upto 312mm aswell so not worried about them either.

Car is SORN atm

Whiteline do adjustable ARB links, both short and long (look at Golf R32). Guess you're changing the front ARB too.

Anyway, no idea why VW decided to stop using the oil level light on some cars but they did.
