Greetings all, you've already been an invaluable source of information as i decided on what to get next. Unfortunately have to wave goodbye to my 11 plate S4 Avant as couldn't justify the pennies required to keep it in juice etc. Had 6500 miles in it, got it with 40 miles on the clock when 6 months old, and the trip meter has been running the entire time and registered a massive 21.7mpg. It could be i have a slightly heavy right foot, but you don't buy these things, then not let the scenery whizz by? So, after much deliberation, i pick up my first diesel car tomorrow, a brand new supercopa TDi in white with black wheels.
So how did the forum help, well firstly was able to see how good the LEON looks in this colour combo, next step was helping me to decide whether to debadge or not. Took a couple of the badges of the S4, it had V6T on the sides, which was pretty weird, given it didn't have a turbo? Main reason i removed, was the car was a bit of a sleeper, apart from the S4 badge, which many will have mistaken for S Line, and the 4 pipes, it looked just like any other A4 Avant, and got good bit of fun, especially chasing an 06 RS4 up to 140 on private track. Straight line acceleration was breathtaking, not quite as good in the twistys as my previous motor, an 06 WRX STi type D, but given the additional weight and huge upgrade in comfort, it was still pretty stunning.
Not my first time in a SEAT either, as before the Scooby, i had an 08 Leon Cupra, so kinda know what i'm getting into? i hope, anyway?
Here's hoping for a good looking car that will return mpg in the high 30's, halve my insurance, road tax, and leave lots more pennies for beer tokens and overseas adventures. Farewell to the flying hearse, hello hot hatch
