Suspension Kits

Has anyone got any recommendations for matched spring/damper suspension kit for a Cupra tdi. Iv spend quite a lot of my time and all of works time on the search and Google etc and every kit seems to have people that like and dislike.

The kits iv been looking at are:

Super Sport Sprint kit
Apex suspension kit
Koni STR.T
Weitec Ultra GT

How much drop does the standard cupra suspension have to start with? I’m looking for a small drop and improved handleing for around the £300 mark and I’m not bothered about it being adjustable. Also will these kits be less crashy than the standard cupra suspension which sounds like you have broken something every time you hit a small bump.

+1 ALex, this is also something ive been looking into for a while now. Im looking for a 60mm drop or there abouts, been down the coliovers route too but cant justify the amount of money it costs for the full adjustability unless i was doing track days etc, the only two being AP and Vmax kits that seem like a good buy.

I have also looked at the same setups as you

What would be better for everyday use, coilovers or suspension kits?

Glad someone else is in the same boat though lol

Also how much would fitting be for coliover or suspension kit along with geometry setup etc

Any advice would be great

I got quoted £135+VAT for fitting and alignment. Thing that puts me off coilovers is that my mate had some FK coilovers on his corsa 1.8 sri and while they was great on flat roads they seemed to bounce the car all over the place on bumpy country roads at high ish speeds. As iv got 25 miles of country roads on the way to work i dont really want this.

Yeah i was dueling with some mates a few months back, and the ones with coliovers where all over the place on the country roads, looked very skitish if ya know what i mean

For the same reasons im kinda biased towards a suspension kit

Thats a fair price i think too BTW, where was that if you dont mind me asking.

That was at Ricci Concept in hull. There VAG specialists aswell so i guess that is a plus. I drove over the north yorkshire moors with with my mate in his corse behind and he was complaining about sliding about on the roads and id had no problems. I think he had some decent tyres on aswell. In the end he snapped a spring on them and said he wouldnt get coilovers again.

whos your mate from hull with the 1.8 sri? I've got a mate from over there with one! FK's are shite tbh if you got some good coilies youd be fine. I had some shite coilies on my old 1.8 sri too and it used to bounce all over, good fun though!

You do know that the lower you go the more camber you will get on the fronts AND there isn't a thing you can about it
as the camber on the mk4 isn't adjustable.

I've got the AP coilovers from awesome-gti and TBH they're really good BUT the rears don't go low enough!!

I'm got them wound to the bottom at the back and there's still arch gap, fronts are half way and could go at least another 50-60mm lower.
