Thanks Torred I'm really pleased with the way it's going.

I had another look last night in the dark and thought they were a touch bright.
I used another 470 ohm resistor on the main feed to the LEDs and connected it to the variable feed for the interior lights so will brighten and dim just like the dash lights etc..

The BMW 3 series compact looked really good (apart from the hella lights like you say) Don't know much about BMW's but still definately preffer the older ones

The interior light looks fantastic! You will have to take some night shots bet it looks really good.

In awe at your electrical skills. I bought a light the same as above with the map reading lights to fit to the ibiza. Got it all in no problems tightening the screws big spark and blew the fuse!!! (still need to sort it actually lol) Thought I was going to have a disaster free job for a change...

Thanks for the comments.

I took a couple of pics with my phone. It gives a nice glow around the centre console and gearstick.

Andy you probably pinched a wire when tightening up. It should be obvious once you remove it. Doddle:)

A couple of phone vids of 0-60. The tuning box certainly makes a difference to the TDI 90
It makes me think about nozzle changes etc.. as the ALH responds well to bigger injectors, VNT17 and map apparently.
I get no excessive smoke at all with this box so it seems there is a bit more to give on the fuel side. I'll do a search and see what comes up.

0-60 Shifting just under red

0-60 Shifting at 4k RPM

Not a flying machine but not bad for what it is.
Not much difference with shifting early which is what I tend to do anyway.

I fitted the sunglasses holder I bought on e-bay. £10.50 inc postage wasn't too bad.

The front tyres on the Leon were winters and I was going to buy a couple of tyres until a set of rims came up.
Trawling e-bay as usual I saw a set of Cupra rims about 45 mins from me.
A couple of messages and a phone call and a deal was made.
16 inch Cupra rims with Dunlop SP Sport 3000s. 3 with over 4mm and one with over 6mm.
Not my first choice of rims but for £100 it was worth it for the rubber alone.
I'll bide my time now until a set of Starfish rims come up at the right money.

Off I went this morning and put them in the back of the Touring.

I got them home and got a local tyre place to put them on the car. £10 later and job done.

I also fitted my plates. Just plain with no flag, black pinstripe and Seat Leon TDI in text at the bottom.
I just like clean plates, more symmetrical IMO.
The back one will look even more symmetrical when I re-fit the b*stard in the middle:blink: :D
I'll pick up some more double sided tape tomorrow.
Don't how the f*ck I managed to get it so wrong lol.

Apart from the brain fart fitting the plate I'm pretty happy:D
The rims look better than I thought they would.
Not looking forward to keeping them clean though.

I've got quite a bit done in the 4 weeks I've had it.

OK. Playtime again.
I was quite surprised how decent the audio set up in the Leon was.
Not bad bass considering there's no sub.
Mid tones were a bit muddy though and I fancied changing the fronts for something with a little more clarity.
I'm not going daft with the audio in the Leon. My e39 has components, amp and active sub and sounds good.
One thing I will say is that the Aura head unit and Philips speakers shames the standard system in my BMW. It really was sh!t.

Anyway.. Door card off and rivets drilled out to remove the speaker.
Obviously at some point it has been leaking in as it has sealer along the bottom of the passenger internal panel and speaker.

I bought some Alpine units which had a good write up as a replacement for OEM speakers which Halfords were knocking out at £29.99.
Speaker adapters were bought off e-bay for £9.00 inc wiring adapters.

I put a bead of silicone between the adapter and the door panel and then fitted the speaker.

I put the door card on but it was not quite what I expected.
I decided to use the flexible rubber fitting which channels the sound straight to the speaker grille on the door card and it was much better. Happy days.

More focussed and clearer to my ears.
Refitted everything and I'm happy with the results.
Decent bass but now a lot clearer in the vocals/mid range.

Hey mate, those videos you posted are quite interesting, definitly alot nipper than my 1.4L. Those wheels are a great improvement! I love my starfish alloys, and guess what, they were 100quid including 2 brand new tyres. :p

Sorry to brag, but they were an awesome bargain!

Looking good mate keep it up!

My tyres are better though lol.
Although your wheels will still look great even when your car is upside down in a roadside ditch:drive2:
Mohawk are known for going bald on the edges with thick tread in the middle:D
I'd have paid £100 just for your rims alone so you got a deal there.

I promised myself I wasn't going to go daft but I've surprised myself with how much I like the car.
Rear interior lights next... plus maybe one or two things I'm thinking about.

Boring update time.
New anti roll bar bushes on the front then welded the back box hanger back on.
Plenty of speedbumps in my area :censored:
We cleaned up the back brakes and I think I'll change the dics sooner rather than later.

The sun was out today and the aircon was used in anger for the first time and was spot on.
Happy days.

Mohawks are saying bye bye in the next couple of weeks!

Thanks. I bought THIS ONE. Others offered slightly more gains but this seller seemed better by reputation. They were also very efficient and good to talk to.
I'm still very happy with the box and the build quality of it is very good.

Well a couple of minor updates.

I've changed the rear discs and pads as the discs were badly pitted and corroded.

I decided to change the head unit for something with a usb port and a better amplifier.
Halfords were having a clear out and I bagged this JVC CD/MP3 with USB port for £56.
I'm not spending daft money as it's my work car. The AM sound quality on the original one was a bit boomy and speech wasn't as clear as I'd have liked.
Aerial amp and facia adapter were bought off e-bay and it was fitted in about 10 minutes.
I've also ordered a USB lead with a 90 degree plug so I can put the usb stick in the glovebox. I'm using a normal one until it arrives. Less chance of damaging the usb stick/head unit facia with it sticking out when in use.
Overall it sounds a lot better and now I have all the music I need.

When I bought the car I had to buy a glovebox handle as mine was broke.
I ended up buying a complete glovebox which had the storage box where the cd changer goes. I kept this bit and fitted it after removing the changer.
Easy to do and I have more room for the crap I accumulate on a daily basis.

Well the car has been performing admirably the last few months but the amount of speedbumps I've flew over have taken it out of the front suspension.
Worn bushes and ball joints so some parts were required.

So I've just fitted two front wishbones and two top mounts.
I did it with my mechanic mate in a couple of hours without breaking a sweat.
It's a lot easier to do with the car at eye level on a lift. Wishbones were £28 each and top mounts were £15 the pair. £45 for my mate and all is now well.

It drives nice and tight again and munches the miles with ease.
I still have the old wheels with the winter tyres on so if the weather takes a turn for the worse I'll put them on.
