Cheers mate! It's pictures like these that Daz has done, which make me realize that the small things like debadging go along way and every bit of effort gone into the car is now worth it

It's taken just over a year to get to this stage from a standard 225, when it was making 212bhp
Lol, always comes down to money unfortunately and lots else to pay for outside of the LCR which is a shame and a pain
I recommend the 3" TIP if your after maximum flow from your k04. Certainly will help

Also reading on from my previous post , defo get the logs incase your pushing limits. Will be really helpful for us all to see whats going on.
youve done well to get it to where it is. Would be great to have a spare few hundred every month to mod away lol, but such is life . ah well.

If you look through the thread Toms LCR only got 210bhp last August. This was a hot day and the car was just about to be serviced so plugs probably not optimum. Before we mapped Toms car (a colder day) it got 241bhp with full exhaust, FMIC plus his other smaller mods. This seems about right, 16bhp from the mods alone.
Dynos are only as good as the air that is channeled through the engine bay. Hence why it is a complete and utter waste of time rolling roading a car on a mobile unit set-up in a field at Santa Pod!
I think this shows that our dyno, which has 3 large fans and is built within a cell which channels the airflow, is getting accurate figures?
Cars that we remap are logged before and after the remap as well as running on the rolling road. If a car was running excessive boost then we would adjust boost levels accordingly. This car is NOT running excessive boost.
The standard LCR rods and block are at their "safe" limits with this much power. Having said that I have a friend who runs 350bhp and 380lb.ft on standard internals and has been running his car for 5 years without problems. Longevity is dependant on the condition of the engine as much as tuning levels.
I would say that the area of more concern reliability wise is the turbo hence why we make sure that we are not running excessive boost- high boost, yes, but NOT excessive boost. Having said that if Tom would like less boost then we can adjust this to owners requirements?
Having spoken to Tom at our rolling road day at the weekend I advised him to treat the engine how you would treat any high performance engine- warm it up, cool it down and don't drive like a c@nt!

Glad your going for the 3" TIP. You will love it.
I will get logs up this week or next of airflow to see how much is going through my setup.
Lol I don't really have a spare few hundred each month at the moment to get it finished, but once some holidays and cr*p are out the way I'll finish it off

I agree with what you've said, mainly because to me the car doesn't feel like it's boosting too high at any stage under acceleration. However I'd like to get my boost gauge fitted soon to see what it is making psi wise just for my knowledge more than anything.
As discussed on Sunday, we're both clear I don't rag the life out of this car, and always warm up and cool down the turbo on every drive no matter what. I can't be paying out a grand to get a k04 replacement when the car is not even finished yet.
I was very pleased with what the car made before it was mapped BUT with the exhaust fitted. 241bhp seemed bang on to me, and given a bit more adjustment maybe a touch more, so I would find it hard to say these rollers are showing inaccurate readings.
Also, to see other LCR's with panel filters, 3" downpipes/sports cats, but without 3" TIPs and the new stage 2 map fitted, BUT make around 270/280 on the day seems spot on to me again when you think about it. I believe the 3" TIP makes a massive difference when on the move from 4th gear on you can really feel it pull harder top end.
There's not much more I can do to increase power output from my engine, and to be clear, I'm not after anymore until I change car now! The car flies, but doesn't feel like it's screaming to get there, i.e over-boosting.. It's progressive and the torque is there from low down where you need it.
I am going to get logs of airflow as I would like to know what g/s the new TIP and jetex are doing in my setup.
Aside from those, I'm delighted with the power the car is giving me and most of all, it's drive-ability, which hasn't been compromised.
It's just a case of hitting these figures and then finding a bandwagon of people doubt it from the off without even reading into the details.
I think if they take a look at the full spec list of my car now, and take into account it's lived on v-power, recently been serviced and was on the rollers on a cold day, they will believe what it is making, perhaps.
It made 283bhp and 307 lb/ft maxed out with the forge TIP on an EVEN COLDER day, so to turn up again on the SAME ROLLERS but with a 3" TIP being my only change and to see that jump, seems to help things add up even more so in my book.
Always going to get these keyboard warrior haters unfortunately I guess who 'know for a FACT' the k04 can't push more than 270-280bhp.
I would like to see their cars on your rollers and I will roll mine on the same day if they want.

Sorry mate that sold a week or so back. The car felt more responsive with the Forge one over the OEM jobbie no doubt about it, I also fitted a panel filter and 007p at the same time though to get the car breathing better...

This is why i want my green cotten pannel filter gone now and Forge TIP replaced with badger5 version and a jetex cone filter im sure mine could do better bhp wise, torque on mine seems to be higher than some with better mods already
