The K04 in the mk1 LCR is the K04-023 (I think it's K04-022 for early 210 models but it's the 023 for the 225 and later 210s). I read somewhere that the mk2 Leon Cupra and mk2 S3 have the K04-064 version.

But as Bill says they're similar in name only really. The Mk2 ones are built into the exhaust manifold, the mk1 turbos bolt on to the mani.

Just some more trivia for you.

That's a bit unfortunate for mk2 owners who have a turbo or mani problem, that's probably gonna cost a couple of grand from the dealers.

Tom, by the way, Congrats on making the 300bhp mark. You reckon the 3" tip made a significant difference yeah? Maybe I can take a look at your setup one day or at a meet?

It would cost a fair bit, but you don't hear of many probs with the mk2's in this regard. I wouldn't mind the power potential on mine, even though 300 odd will do for the time being.

Thanks for the comment by the way!
I think the extra gains are all down to the 3" TIP, torque at mid to top end increased and even higher torque figures than the last rolling road when it was mapped.

Where are you based? If your local a meet should be no problem at all. I can take you for a spin if you want aswell. ;)

The car continues to surprise me with it's pace, only tonight on the way way to my girlfriends' did I need to apply the brakes ALOT more into a couple of corners than I have done before.. It really is very very rapid now and I love it! The exhaust has also sooted up nicely now and even sounds like it's spitting under full chat. Has a lovely rasp developing to it now. Very happy :D

Haha, yeah, "for the time being", I don't think we'll ever stop looking to get more power. I'm in Bromley/Chislehurst area. I've only seen a black lcr around this neck of the woods, it has stickers on the door under the mirror I think. That'll great, DK took me out in his when he had the milly cat back only, but as it wasn't warmed up, I didn't get full affect.

Lol, have you updated the brakes too? I haven't read your full rr. :( my standard brembos have never stopped squeaking in almost 4 years. Hmm.300bhp is fantastic, but it'll cost me a lot to get to that stage. We met at the Grasshopper I think, we have the same colour. (the best) :D

Ah sorry mate, I think I remember you from the Grasshopper now! Did you park sideways to us and have a standard platinum grey LCR?

Your close to me by the sounds of things, so if you ever want to meet up, have a look at each others cars, I could take you out in mine, not a problem if your considering a remap one day in the near future.

I've not uprated the brakes, but it's on my list to do. I'm going to be going for EBC discs at the front with DS2500 pads. And OEM replacements at the rear. But I will be changing the brake fluid at the same time so a complete overhaul... When money allows! :(

Well, the car was dropped off at a local SEAT garage this morning to have it's raised spoiler corrected.

Should be done by lunchtime so will feedback this afternoon how it goes!

Yeah that was me. I've just put on a 57i K&N, not very good around town, sounds great though, i just fancied a change from my panel filter.

Not a bad filter though mate. How do you find the filter in terms of it's coating in oil etc? I bet it does sound good under throttle ;)

Panel filter will always be more responsive than a jetex/k&n/green/powertec open cone anyday off the week, but only when your crawling along.

Doesn't take long for mine to start sucking in all that air! Once your on the move that's where the gain is, and that's where it counts for me. :)

We're you at the AmD RR meet?

I haven't haven't had any problems with it actually. They're known the world over so I'm always a bit surprised when they're the cause of maf malfunctions. The last amd meet I went to was last January I think, 2010?

Yeah I had one on a Corsa years ago! Was a great filter and took some punishment. Cleaned up good too with the service kit :)

I went to that one last year too. Will you be going to the summer one?

Spoiler is all sorted, glued back down and looking much more oem and flush with the roof. Took less than expected time to so only cost a score to get it fixed! :p

I did take a picture of how it looked before, but forgot to get an 'after' so will get it tomorrow and stick up for progress pics!

Yeah i'm planning on going to the one this year too, not going on the rollers though, haven't done anything to the motor so it'll be kinda pointless.

Yeah summer one will be good mate, always a top day out and hopefully it'll be dry but definitely warmer than the Feb one!

Gave the car a good hoover today, wiped down the door seals etc and gave the dash and interior a good wipe down with Armor All dash wipes. Here's some pics:
