Your motor will be an absolute weapon mate. I like the look of the shifter bushing kit, any idea how easy it is to fit?

Haha, 'weapon' is a strong term! I think it'll have more track pace though for sure once all this is done. Looking forward to getting it back on Brands and comparing to last years' laps.
I'm not sure at all tbh mate. Darren suggested it to me as an upgrade worth considering while this work is getting done. Once I read the description of what the benefits are and the price, I thought sod it why not. If you aren't in a rush, I will find out how it went on when I get my car back and let you know. From what I've read and heard from Al, it can only be a good thing for better shifts. Might be a worthwhile mod for you as you're thinking of track next year right?
Yeah, mine will be seeing some track action next year. Only things it'll be missing should be clutch and LSD by then.

But when you think about it, it's the launches from a stand still which will kill them off. I don't really rag mine off from 1st gear as this isn't the strongest point of the car imo.
You will probably be fine on track, but if and when you decide to do the clutch, get the LSD done at the same time to save on labour costs. I wouldn't have done it separately.
Great to see things progressing Tom, I've followed your thread since i joined SCN. These will be big upgrades and those bushes will fine tune the set up no doubt. I have similar upgrades going on now too so would be interesting to hear you views, opinions etc.

Clutch is fine mate. I don't do standing starts, don't see the point in these. Cars just done 36k so clutch should keep going for a while yet. LSD and clutch will definately be done at the same time.

With all these handling mods done it should all come together as you say. It feels alot tighter and sharper since the bushes got done. A nice smooth road, like a track will test it!

And that is some low miles right there! Definitely one of the minters on the site bud. Don't rush the clutch and diff, they are not cheap

Cheers mate, I cover about the same mileage as you a year. I'm not rushing to get anymore big jobs done after this round, nowts cheap this days

Indeed, nothing is cheap sadly. You're doing well mate just keep going and the good weather will bring some sweet track time for your car. You really will have loads of fun believe me. It's another thing getting it nailed around track and improving lap after lap and then realizing your car has performed really well. Which makes all the work worth it!

I want another crack at staying with the newer S3's and Edition 30 Golf's which were fully kitted out against me at Brands. They had the straights of course but I think with more exit speed (diff) I could keep with them much better. I couldn't give much more than the car was capable of back then by the end of the session. She performed faultlessly though!

I didn't massively intend on buying them but D.K spoke up and told me to get them while it's being done so yeah it made sense really.... Yeah mate well maybe next year something can be arranged for track time and a meet up!
Just thought i'd put this in here for you
I drove my mates 300hp astra coupe with LSD last night, the first time i've ever driven a car with a LSD
Didnt feel too much different to a normal car at low speeds but the owner egged me on to blat it into a few corners so i could feel the difference
So first time i came off an island i came on boost quite early to see how it compared to the leon, so i kind of accounted for the scrabble and fighting for grip the leon gives and took a slightly different line out to most apart from the diff did all the work and caught me out.
It made it so i didnt have to fight the car so much and you could feel it doing its thing through the steering wheel
After the initial shock of its ability to keep you so point and shoot you realise how much more you can push the car
I would liken it to ABS for braking, it allows you to be able to steer/manouvre whilst giving maximum brake efficiency, i feel the diff is the equivelent for acceleration
Im by no means a stig but the very first time you really use the diff you will have compensated for how the car 'used' to drive and can give you a brown pants moment as it pulls you where you werent expecting and very quickly
So enjoy the car when you get it back but be careful when getting to grip with it as if youre not used to it you could get bitten

Thanks for the input Ronin Certainly matches up with what everyone has told me so far about what to expect.
Going to be off full boost for a while as I bed the clutch in anyway so won't be going mad pushing the diff from the off. I plan to test it out in the dry first also! Going to really help the car on track
