Tailgate release

Windy

Hi everyone I need to ask if the rear tailgate release handle on my 09 plate 1.4tsi sport has a problem thar is common to the leon's.

When you push the top of the seat badge to release the lock it stays in that position. It does not spring back anymore. I'll be taking it back to Seat for warranty work but wondered if this was common.
It has been very wet and windy here and a lot of road filth has been washed up onto the tailgate so it could be a bit of grit or suchlike I suppose.

I have 09 Leon FR and I have no such problem.

It will probably be just accumulation of muck

Mine does it from time to time when the car is very dirty and when clean back to normal. Had a Mk5 Golf that did a similar thing

My 59 plate went the other day. Does the same as yours, so I took it to the dealers and they're gonna fit a new one. they did'nt say what the problem was but I will be asking when it's done. Second one they've had in on that plate.
