I have been maintaining an accessories thread on another board and it just occurred to me that it might be a good idea to port it over for the perusal of members of this forum.

It was not my idea in the first place, I got if from the Spanish sister forum, there though there is no single frequently updated first post with all accessories and searching the monster thread (over 100 pages) is tedious and results in many missed opportunities.

I have purchased the majority of the listed accessories and can vouch for their suitability for the Tarraco (there are exceptions for the FR trim that are clearly signposted). Enjoy!

Added the Extra LED Boot Light Mod.

Not exactly an accessory (more like a mod) but negates the need to buy any of the rechargeable magnetic mounted LED lights and is much neater.

Although the rechargeable LED lights provide a lot of luminance, they tend to turn on when it is bumpy and sometimes fall off their magnetic strip mount unless using industrial strength 3m two sided tape.

I have decided to add a second LED boot light on the other side of the car using these two parts: x2 Saborway LED Footwell Light foot Lamp with Cable Wire harness and LED Luggage Compartment Trunk Boot Light

Daisy chained the two cables (you will need two as one is not long enough) and passed them through the left plastic grill, below the spare wheel foam insert and up the right hand side grill to the gap where the optional (for VW and Skoda) Magnetic Rechargeable LED light is housed (more on that later).

The LED unit slots in perfectly width wise but leaves a small gap at the bottom and a bigger one at the top, I am using a bit of cardboard currently to plug the gap and intend to find a more permanent solution when I have more time. I am also going to use some spare velcro to tidy up the cable either side with a view of routing it behind the trim pieces if there is a way (if anyone tries it and manages to find a neater route please share).

The neatest solution would be to install the following x3 VW parts:
3T0 947 509 9B9 Dock
5L6 867 559 82V Frame Case
3T0 947 417 B 9B9 Magnetic Rechargeable LED battery unit

However: a) they are expensive (£135! altogether) and non returnable (as they are special order for a SEAT) and b) VW/Skoda owners are reporting that although the LED unit is supposed to work as a secondary boot light (as well as a removable rechargeable mini flashlight) it doesn't.

So in my mind, spending £135 is too much to risk for something that might or might not work.

A bit of industrial strength 3m double sided tape, spare velcro and a bit better routing and result! I haven't still managed to do anything with the surround of the new light but frankly the cardboard works just fine.

Added the Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam Bundle.

I hadn't realised the importance of a Dash Cam until one of my acquaintances "rear ended" a couple of lads that were up to no good and nearly had to write off his X5.

I decided on the Nextbase 622GW because a) it is sold and supported by SEAT (with SEAT part nos and everything ) and b) I got a killer deal on Prime Day: £210 for the Front/Rear/SD Card combo with £14.95 extra for the Hardwire Kit.

£75 lighter later (I could do it myself but I am lazy and the guy did it in a tenth of the time I would do it, on my drive, same day callout and frankly more cleanly and professionally) and I am the proud owner of a working system. I even managed to make the custom sun shades work with the rear cam (see photo).

Added the OEM Highline Reversing Camera Retrofit.

Not an accesory exactly, more like a mod but really worth it (thanks to Kieran from East Yorkshire Retrofits).

It is the only thing missing IMHO from the SE Tech trim (even from the FR (Sport) what's that all about?) as it is a big car.

Added the Vanity SEAT Wheel Caps (Blue).

Pure vanity but the Mystery Blue hub caps look very good on an Atlantic Blue car.

They also come in Desire Red.

Added the Bonnet Gas Strut.

The strut does work very well.

The top nipple mount is unnecessarily fiddly but it works.

Not an accessory per se but a very worthwhile upgrade. The rim is the Skoda Crater 19" 7Jx19 ET43 5x112 wearing Michelin Crossclimate 2 235/50/R19.

My Carlinkit 2.0 Wired CarPlay to Wireless adapter gave up the ghost yesterday and narrowly managed to get a replacement in time for Xmas, what I didn't know is that they have now upgraded to v3 of the device which is much much better: Carlinkit 3.0 Wired CarPlay to Wireless.

Startup is far quicker (down to 10-15 seconds from around 25-30 in v2.0) and everything is far zappier, the interface is also much improved and very professional, in all a nice present to self.

After a lot of trial and error (for brands to avoid PM me as I don't like slagging off manufacturers anonymously online) I have managed to find something that works on many levels: Titan Seat Tarraco 2018 - Onwards Front Seat Covers and Titan Seat Tarraco 2018 - Onwards Back Seat Cover.

Quality first: amazing, the images (and by extension, my fitting) don't do them justice, proper hardcore, solid, the stitching especially is bombproof. Choice of colours as well so went with blue to match the car (vanity first ).

Fitting: 4.5 stars, 0.5 stars removed because the velcro openings in the back for the seat belts/buckles are a tad fiddly but compared to the competition (where they are simply not there or are in entirely the wrong place) work fine. The front covers cover the seat from top to bottom/front and back for added protection.

Overall looking like a very decent purchase.

Added the Sound System Upgrade.

Finally got around to upgrading the sound system, it has been a tad underwhelming especially at high volumes (although much better than other OEM offerings, Ford I am looking at you ).

The upgrade is a Seat Sound retrofit kit and it sounds fantastic, the bass is now insane (to my old ears at least).

Added the rear footwell lighting.

The brackets are very flimsy (the eagleyed will see in the photo that the border has snapped at the bottom), even minimal force causes them to bend/snap so be very careful with handling.

Also, ensure the shortest path is selected as the cables are merely adequate length wise.

Update on the Bonnet Gas Strut, the base has unfortunately broken and the bonnet almost fell on my head today, not happy.

I have been trying to get some decent inner door sill trims for some time now (mine is the SE Tech so doesn't have any factory fitted) and even though I can source the Xcellence and FR, well, my car is neither.

I looked for Tiguan (AllSpace) ones but they all have some garish Tiguan lettering until I bumped (a combination of chance and research) on this: Chrome Inner Door Sill Scuff Plate Stainless Steel 4 Pc Interior

It took about a month for them to arrive and the package was cracked at the bottom and all sills bent! Fortunately, I have a friend with a decent heat gun so managed to bring them to an acceptable condition. Fitting is very straightforward, make sure to clean the surface thoroughly and heat both the surface and double-sided tape, sizing is perfect and adhesion, so far, very good.

I am unsure about the rears but will keep them for now (they obviously are for the Tiguan proper, not the AllSpace (which is the VW Tarraco equivalent).

The seller is sending two replacements for the broken bases (they are screwable) and a replacement nipple (that broke as well) that goes into the bonnet, waiting for them currently.

It was a catastrophic failure, everything broke at once so I think it must have been manufacturing defect.

Question that comes up on the Ateca side quite a bit. Never had them but do it the old fashioned way. I can see when getting old the merits of not fiddling with the arm.
