And how do you know what he was running? He could have 300 to play with. Some days you win others you just need to chill for another day.

A petrol will be better in the higher rev ranges but the diesel will have the grunt low down. On the A roads and motorways I just don't risk going past the ton, need my licence too much. But the fun I can have getting to the next set of lights around town!

A good remap will get you to 200 safely but will test the standard clutch and if that clutch has already seen many miles the more that test will be.

A decent fmic will give you a few extra horses but as andrewwright says, getting big numbers will really empty your wallet.

Don't go lower on that car unless you are happy to whack your sump. Get a rear arb fitted and then see how those bends are!
I definitely want the remap and some bbs 18s I might look into a bigger turbo! Just for a start or I might just wait and see if it's gonna be worth it.

Yeah, I'd run it for a couple of weeks first mate, see if any Gremlins appear before you spend money on upgrading stuff.

My pd150 has a remap and i commute an hour each way for work.

Easily get 500 miles from a tank of dino juice and thats not bring particularly careful with the right foot.

It was mapped at around 110k, the map killed off the standard clutch but i replaced it with a new standard one and its been fine for the last 20k.

Only thing i would say is check the condition of your boost hoses. After the map i had a game of "chase the boost leak" with a couple of hose joints giving up, but once it was sorted its been great.
