Does anyone know if the AWX passat tdi exhaust manifold will bolt onto an ASZ/BLT Head?

I'm trying to find a pikey way of doing a GTB conversion lol!

Think, somewhere had read that all VAG 8v manifolds are interchangeable. Hope someone will chime up and verify or negate that.

If its the PD130 passat manifold then yes, however, I don't think it will fit down the back of the Ibiza's engine with a 2260 if your using an adaptor plate.

Don't quote me on it, but I'm sure there were issues when tried on a mk4 golf with clearance, and it's much more restrictive/lacking in space between the engine and bulkhead in the Ibiza.

You can send mail to Darkside Developments. They got flanges (also got hole kits) for GTB turbos and i think they will know if AWX+GTB fits. Sure they had have make at least one conversion into Ibiza/Fabia/Polo.

Isnt the engine fitted transverse in a passat?

Why not just use the mk3 golf manifold like everyone else lol

The engine is mounted longitudinal in the passat but that makes no difference. The difference is that the longitudinal engines using a separate exhaust manifold and turbo, opposed to the complete unit found in the transverse mounted engines. This means you can get an adaptor flange that requires no pokey cast to steel welding.

Darkside do offer a bolt on solution as I'm running it, and personally couldn't recommend forking out that bit extra for the tubular mani, but I know it's out of some people's price range. You get what you pay for though, and the tubular mani'd ones make better numbers and run at nicer temperatures.

Passat got longitudinal mount engine. Many peops recomend AFN (Golf mk3) mani, but others are thinking AFN mani has less flow then AWX.
