Just curious if anyone can help, I have the typical boost problem, got it plugged in today using snap on odb job, came up with 2 faults 1 being turbo deviation, and maf, we cleared the codes left it plugged in and drove for a few miles and the fault code for maf returned ran a test and the most output we had from it was 380 or so, so I've decided to replace the maf, question is I can't get my maf sensor off as the wrong tools, so if I got a whole maf from a breaking car could I replace the whole thing and still work ok on my car?

Would probably be best to get the right tools for the job,
I personally wouldn't think It would matter if you changed the lot as long as the maf was the same and plugged in with no leaks of any kind.

Yeah I'm going to get a brand new one but I'm looking for something just to get by with for a while.

You could get the whole maf set up at a breakers and change it over. As it would be the same as what you have at the moment. Is that what you mean.

Shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't.

You can get enough grip on the two retaining screws with pliers to undo them. I did it a little while back.

Don't suppose anyone knows what sort of figures should show for testing the maf with a obd device, we used snap on and took the revs to over 4000rpm and the number barely hit 400+

Can't remember what the codes was, I changed the maf tonight after work and it's running spot on, pulls well for a 110, think I'm gonna look in to a remap next

Good to hear you've got the car running fine again.

I was thinking about getting my AHF remapped but the going rate still seems to be almost £200.
But I am tempted to give the fuel pump mod a try should only cost a few pounds, the details are in this video:

Just watched that tbh I'd be reluctant due to all the wiring lol I hate the bloody things, it's interesting to know though, not sure if it would be the same on mine as I've asv engine, would you still be able to map it after that mod, could be interesting to add around 60bhp with just a map and that mod lol

Wiring doesn't worry me that much, it's brakes and suspension I normally get someone else to do. That mod should also work on the ASV, since they're much the same engine with the same fuel system.

I don't think you could put a stage 1 map on top of that mod and get extra power from both. Since they're doing much the same thing, increasing the amount of fuel that is supplied. There is a limit to how much extra fuel you can dump in, too much and you'll get black clouds of un-burnt fuel out the exhaust. So then you have to increase the turbo boost to get more air to burn the extra fuel.

Yeah looked at them at Blackstone site but the only thing with doing it like that is everybody's engines run slightly different so putting in a basic remap program could make it worse I mean if you got a 70k leon and 170k the 2 engines arnt going to be the same so fueling and air etc would be different between the 2

It will drive the same ,But the extra power is there if you need it. Mine has 130k and is running fine. And if your not happy with the map you can always put your old one back in :)
