Had issues with my 1.9 TDI underboosting, overboosting and generally being a pain in the ass for a while. Symptoms were going into limp mode up and down hill under hard acceleration, I'd tried Revive Turbo Cleaner, Valvoline Turbo cleaner and Mr Muscle so thought my turbo must be clean and got started playing with the sensors.
All the sensors checked out so I got on to a local VW specialist who suggested replacing the turbo for £550, which I didn't want to spend without knowing for sure it was the cause, or using the Forte Turbo Cleaner as they have had positive results.
Popped it in half a tank of fuel not expecting to get anywhere and initially I thought that was the case, 100 miles in and the car was still hitting limp mode. Decided at this point to manually operate the turbo actuator a bit and the limp modes got less, another 100 miles and another wiggle of the actuator which was noticeably smoother, another 100 miles and NO limp modes and more actuator wiggling which is now perfect!
I'm amased that something that went through the combustion process was able to do this, but my car really is driving the best it ever has!
So if you're having limp mode issues, then for the sake of a tenner off Ebay or £15 on Amazon its definitely worth a go!
