Hi guys,

Ive recently got a 2001 1.6 Leon Sand had no problems up until about a week ago that when i get into my car in the moring and start it the temperature light flashes red and beeps.

It cant be because its too hot because its not been running. Possibly a sensor failure?

Any help would be great.

Cheers!!!

sounds like it fella, get someone local (or if you have a laptop, buy a cheapo cable) to run vagcom. if probably will have logged a fault one way or the other.

I swear to god I did search. Im obviously rubbish at search as it gave me a list of simlar threads below.

So seems to be something to do with the coolant or fault sensor like issue.

Im sure the levels are ok so I shall have another deek tommorow

Ive got a cable lying about but not tried it on the Leon yet

Cheers for the quick responce!!

Its the most common fault on the seat leon mate.

Your level sensor will be okay, its your expansion tank at fault, you need a new 1! Costs about £15.

This should become a sticky thread because this fault happens so many times!

Well

its not really such a concern now. An Audi A4 pulled out on me today and pretty much mangled the front :-o

Sorry to hear that mate, i had the light and beeps this morning and got a little worries.

Sensor..........Water Pump..........etc.......

But then check and coolent level was a little low.topped up and off went the light and never beeped again.
