since it has been getting a little colder when i start my cupra up the temp light flashes and beeps about five times, when the car warms up it stops flashing, the car has just had a full service and coolant change. is this normal? cheers!

funny you should say that i went out to my car today started it up and temp light beeps a few times then flashes red,i turned off then back on again then it was fine- i was thinking might be because its just cold warning.

im sure this is the sensor miss-reading in your coolant tank, just pull the sensor out and give it a little scrape and plug it back in...should be fine

Cheers boys i will give it a clean, but its so bloody freezing out there. let us know if you clean yours up if it stops beeping, by the way only passed my test on friday, about bloody time :)

it happens about 5 secs after i turn the engine on, should i change the probe sensor? does anybody know how much they would be roughly.

its part of the header tank so u gotta replace the whole think, but its not very expensive anyway. still i'd just give the metal prongs a light scrub and add some water first.

could always stick it on vagcom and check to be sure which sensor it is
