Me and m0rk both felt the thing that lets down the handling, was the PZERO's.

They are crapola, they were as bad on the Leon R. They don't grip that well, so as a result the whole handling is thrown out of kilter. ABS and TCS cutting in were testament to the fact the boots were simply not upto the task.

Not that it was terrible, because it wasn't. But we both agreed the car could be so much better with good rubber.

I'm amazed they say the Leon Cupra engine is not just an S3 engine with a lower boost setting.

I was under the impression that it was, and it seems to have been kept very hush hush so I thought that almost confirmed that they didn't want to be upsetting S3 owners.

The S3 uses Continental Contact 2's which is a blessing as I hate the P-Zeros. They weren't brilliant, but the lesser of 2 evils.

At least there are some decent reviews coming through for the Cupra now, which are well deserved as it should be everything the Golf 5 GTi is, then some more.

Aren't the compression ratio's slightly different ie the Cupra's is a little higher than the S3's?

The Autocar review would be out on the day that I went and test drove a Megane R26!! To make it worse, they even ended with this:

The Cupra is strong enough to fend off the Astra VXR and Mazda 3 MPS, but it won’t tempt us from the similarly priced and still more appealing Focus ST or Mégane R26.

The handling on the R26 is awesome and the way it puts its power down is like no front wheel drive car I have ever driven. Even with the seats it didn't feel as harsh as I expected. Even the equipment level is good.
Its just that rear end
