....and is going to be replaced with a cupra:D. Test drove it on Saturday and it is f**king scary lol. Can't wait to get it.

What are the common problems with cupras? I can only think of coilpacks off the top of my head.

I know I said I was a bit gutted with the problems I've had with the FR and that I wasn't sure whether I would get another SEAT, but I guess I have just been unlucky. The most common problem that people have with the FR is the DPF.....I have only had one problem with that which is surprising, so I reckon I've just been unlucky with that car to be fair.

I shall post pics when I get the car (don't get it until the 21st :()

it has the BTCC kit (which I never used to like to be honest) but it looks 100 times better in the flesh, I was actually really surprised. AND I really wanted a car with the spoiler and skirts, so if push came to shove, I could have sourced a normal cupra's front and back bumper to replace the BTCC ones.

Any suggestions for mods/upgrades would be appreciated.

by the way, does the cupra come with AUX port as standard? Forgot to check

Awesome dude, I'm sure you'll love it! :)

Best easy mods have to be remap and lowering springs as with the FR. Many to choose from but you get what you pay for I suppose!

Looking forward to seeing the pics of the new beast! ;)

Congratulations, you'll love it. To answer a couple of your questions, not many problems unique to the Cupra.
It seems to be that most of the problems with the coilpacks are caused by a combination of the bonnet leak and removing the engine cover.
The FL model has USB and i-pod in the centre console under the radio, I believe the pre FL has them under the drivers seat.
One problem you may need to watch out for is curbing the wheels. The tyre offers very little protection to the rim and the spokes dish out a lot further than the tyre (not sure if the smaller wheels are as bad). Watch out when parking near a kerb.
As for mods, mine's staying standard so can't help with that, just fitted Sat Nav and a new battery cover (big improvement over the standard one).

No doubt this will seem a very long week for you.

Cheers mate, I'm sooo excited, it's like xmas has come early :santa::santa::santa:

I won't be re-mapping it for a while, the car is ten times faster than my FR tdi (which was standard) so I want to have it standard for a while, just to make the most of it lol. If I get it re-mapped straight away I will end up running out of things to do with the car!!

Are eibach sport lines still the ones that everyone goes for?

I said to myself I wouldn't get another black car.....but it just looks class.

Mate, it's dragging already!! I am VERY careful with my alloys lol, the alloys on my FR got refurbed before I got them and I have kept them in perfect condition, I plan to do the same with the cupra!!!!

I was wanting to get a decent air intake eventually which means I'll have to remove the engine cover, did someone not cut their engine cover so that it still fitted?

How cool now you have a chance to beat Buzz

Is it a FL Cupra? Other than more pennies in fuel petrol is so much nicer to drive overall :D

lmaooo narrrrrrr the Leon buzz will still kick my arse!

naaaaah mate. I would have had to put more money in to get the FL version (I am young, stupid and impatient). I think the pre-fl looks more aggressive though to be honest.

The cupra just sounds so loud compared to my tractor!

lol yep The Leon Buzz does have the go faster stripes which makes it much much faster than a standard Cupra :cartman:

Not worth putting loads of dosh in and with the BTCC kit will look cool make sure you get some pics up and enjoy no more DPF or injector worries :)

I should have really waited to try and get a newer model....but I am stupidly impatient mate!!

But yeah, that's the main thing, no more fooking DPF worries!!!

Congrats mate! You are gonna love it. I went for the weiteck hi con gt coilovers. I have many mods planned for mine and have started gathering all the stuff already as you know. Re,ap defo on the cards for next year, stage 2 for me. ITG induction is the way to go.

That sounds very sensible to me mate, no point rushing things is there!? :)

Yeah, the Eibach Sportlines are still a popular choice and make the car look like it should've from the factory!

Cheers Mate, can't wait. I can still hear the DV in my head . Was your Boc stage 2?? I am going to wait a while before I do anything to the cupra. it's insanely quick anyway (for me lol)

aye exactly, I'll probs wait a year and then see what happens. I probably will do exterior mods etc, but I'm not planning on doing any tuning yet!

This is going to be such a shitty long week :(

coil packs are still an issue with the MK2 , also spark plugs are a bit hit and miss.
Upgrading your DV to the latest revision D is a very good idea.

Other issues are o rings blowing on the standard intercooler pipes , o rings are about £4 but there are about 5 different sizes , so you will need to get the right one , fitting is straight forward.

Some Cupra's are using a lot of oil , some not so much , a bit of pot luck really.

PCV Valves are weak , i would change yours so you have a good starting platform , its cheap and easy to do.

there havent been too many issues with the maf , you might want to get new dounghnuts for the engine cover they go weak and the engine cover could conme loose and break the fuel pump switch off , happened to me.
But if you are going for an induction kit this wont apply to you.

Rob.

Cheers for the heads up mate!!!:p

Cheers mate, I'm sure I will. Just bored of waiting already haha.

Petrol sounds so much nicer and feel smoother than my dirty diesel lol
just be making friends with local Tesco's for Momentum or Shell for the super stuff... I have . . . :D
