well those of you who have seen my post in general about an errant rock on the motorway dinting the bonnet and bouncing onto the roof will be shocked to hear this.............

its gonna cost 500+ incl VAT to get sorted
got 4/5 quotes all of around the same, some willing to drop VAT for cash
and i have to foot the bill for someone cutting 2 minutes off their job not securing their load properly before they set off

try and keep a car nice and is your pride and joy and i forever seem to be ploughing money into things that other idiots do.

Come at the worst time with tax due at end of the month and MOT at the very start of Jan!

if you do claim take pictures asap preferably with a copy of the days newspaper next to the hole becuase as soon as you call/write they fill the hole in :censored:

and a signed witness statement from a civil servant helps a treat ;)

Re the pot hole, unles syou can prove it has been there for over 6 months you do not have a hope.

The council will rely on a section 58 defence saying the area is regulaly checked and any faults that come to their attention repaired

I probably do. There were 19 '999' calls about it and even then they didnt fix it until a sergant from the police suggested they'd better and quick before there was a fatality as a result. People had been notifying them all weekend and still they did nothing until Monday because tow councils were arguing who was responsible for the stretch of road.

I dont know much about section 58 but from what you describe it doesnt sound like they were complying to it.

They have to have acted reasonably, good look but if it wa sonly there a short while you may have problems,

There again they may just pay out, you have nothing to loose
