Well I have visited my local VW..

and found that they are out of stock of golf washer jets, just.

but after finding this out i also relaised that polo washers probably wont fit, so theyre out of the question, despite being the 'fan' spray type.

There were lots of mk 4 and 5 golfs in the forecourt so I investigated further, and found that the oldest mk4 there (51 reg) had the newer 'fan' jets!!!!

woop woop! so they may be found possibly at breakers? and also should be easier to source from parts centres too.

they also look like they would fit easier if taken from a late mk4 actually.

I have a pic of what to look for but will upload later.

Look out for a square jet with a silver 'slot' in it which distinguishes it from the normal 'cat eyed' jets.

Hope this helps, and pics will be up later... also I will be popping to vw later in the week to pick them up :D

Have been wanting to upgrade my jets for a while now as the standard ones are worse than the ones I had on my Saxo VTR ffs!

Will be interested to see how you get on with the swap, oh also, what foglights are you running in the pic in your avatar, I hate mine, all yellow and nasty!

they're standard form when I bought the car, theyre deffo not yellowy but theyre not REALLY blue its just the pic i think lol

This is the washer jet on the new mkV golf:

I shall be popping into VW tomorrow to see if any are in stock and I will report back any probs and part numbers later tomorrow. fingers crossed guys :)

yeah instead of two (pathetic) streams of water you get a fan of water spread over one half of the windscreen per jet. I will try and install one and then wash my windscreen comparing the two with pics if that helps?

Get um fitted quick Boz!!
It could prove to be a worthwhile mod.
Cant even direct jets properly, takes me back when i was playing with water filled pistols

Good luck finding the right parts mate. If you do, get the part numbers up and I'll give it a go next week :)

Check the Skoda Octavia as well, part might be cheaper from the Skoda dealers.

I'll go and have a look in the carpark and see if they'll fit.......
