NEWSFLASH

Got this mod done, and it works. Brilliantly.
There were some teething problems with it that slowed the job down, and if i did this again i'd do it slightly differently (i may get a new scuttle panel and do it again after Xmas) but they work and i have pics to prove it!
Took 2 hours all in, but this could easily be halved now its been done once.
Will try and get a guide together tonight and some pics, but in the meantime you can all worship me for having the first Leon with Fan washer jets fitted (theres one for the record books) ;)

Why thank you.
I'd like to thank My Mum, My Dad, My 2 brothers, My Girl friend, my Daughter, my Socket set, my phillips screw driver, my new friend Will at VW Parts, the weather for staying nice, God for allowing me to keep all skin in tact on every knuckle, and of course you guys, my loyal fans ;)

Have i milked it enough yet?

I'm currently trying to find a neater, hassle free of doing this for everyone else, and myself when i do it again.
Will post up any findings.

Well done that lad :D . Glad some 1 had the balls to dive in and finish this project. Now we can all show are washers off instead of flashing each other hehe

Do it again?
You setting up a production line??
The mans going global.....LOL
LOL, Not quite.
I'm investigating exactly what parts the Golf and the Leon share, and if the scuttle panel (VW know it as water deflector) happens to match, then that gives people 2 options.
1) Get out the cutters and file, and start hacking.....
2) Buy the Golf part that the washers fit, and use that instead.

For anyone thats interested, the Golf Water deflector is 1J2 819 415 C and costs £35.54 INC VAT. (chassis number used for that part was from a Golf TDI 150)
I'm trying to find the part number of the MK1 Leon panel, but having no luck online.
Might have to take mine off again tomorrow just to check
If anyone happens to come across it, please let us know :)

dont think it will be the same as the windscreen wiper linkages definately are not the same so i would take a guess that the scuttle wont be

I've had a look at vagcat and come up with this, only thing is there is no part # for it other than the 19 # on main screen...... :wtf:

Same site i used, but it seems to skip over all the part numbers i need!
Not to worry, i'll take mine off in the morning. Or ring the dealers and speak to parts.

Anyone able to enhance this pic a bit better?
Look closely and there are some numbers that i've only just noticed, but can't quite make out...
