So she returned from the dead looking better than ever Imo shame I couldn't convince them to fit a facelift bumper instead but hey ho, now them standard lights have to go..
In keeping with the theme of carrying out tasks in the dark I decide the back could do with brightening up a little too, (Aswel as well overdue a clean)
The car went in for a generic remap to tide me over at a local garage where we subesquently found a dreaded boost leak which was pointed out nicely by the remap which gave the car just enough boost to blow the pipe clean off.... So after a very grueling drive too seat in a naturally aspirated diesel the new boost pipe is on and all is well again
The beezer got a 'glad your better present' next in the form of a Tony banks straight through exhaust with decat, was worried it would sound like a tractor but sounds awesome and looks great Imo and I love the turbo 'owl' noise, can't recommend Tony enough, will get a shot of the underneath next time it's on the lift
The winter hit next and hindsights a wonderful thing and winter tyres would of being a wise investment to stop the constant spinning apparently she isn't best suited for these conditions
The snow has gone, however it did give me something to think about in the way of stopping power, or lack of, so managed to pick some tt calipers and hangers up of eBay for £80 and fitted some 312mm disks to solve the problem, figured I may as well give the calipers a quick paint while messing around, happy with the result, stops great now and and I think they fill the wheel really well too
Invested in this off a mate for £65, only to get the old one off and realise this doesn't fit and too make things worse the boost leak seems to have moved itself to another pipe which seat have deemed worthy of a £125 price tag oh well back to the drawing board and this thing went straight onto eBay
Decided there was too much yellow and was originally going to get the roof painted however I have a nasty habit of changing my mind, so carbon wrap got the vote
After searching and searching for a decent second hand jobby front mounted intercooler to eventually solve all my boost pipe problems with the pipework they come with and start preparing me for stage two and of course avoid paying seat another penny I gave in. I gave the lads at awesome gti a ring and ordered a shiny new airtec system, tiny bit of bumper cutting required and all was well, the car is now boosting properly and pulls like a little train again
Managed to finally get round to putting the wind deflectors on as well which seems to have taken me forever, now just to take a step back and think about the next steps.....while awaiting another delivery from awesome that should arrive tomorrow hopefully.....
