Have been scouring ebay for a set of HIDs as money is kinda tight after the recent purchase of my LCR and I have read in other threads that the kits off ebay are just as good as the more expensive ones just re-boxed ? any truth in this ?

so anyway, how do these look ? uk based

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/H7-6000K-Genuine-Xenon-Hid-Conversion-Upgrade-Kit-New_W0QQitemZ230289530342QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230289530342&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A3%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Oh yeh, and will i need anything else before i fit them ?
Whats this about them throwing up 'headlight out' warnings, does a 2004 LCR have this feature ?

Thanks

The thing is with most of the HID kits the components are the same, they have the same wiring/connectors and the ballasts look the same. Cept maybe for a customised sticker. The bulbs all look the same cept again for a sticker on the plastic protection cover and the box which they come in. Don't be fooled by big names like Bosch, Phillips etc... They won't be genuine. I bet they are churned out the same factory. Go for the cheapest set which has been the diane-shop for most.

The headlight warnings is for the MK2 Leon. Not sure how they've got round that on their model, resistors?

Yeh ARGE they look good plus a UK Seller. - I'd go for them.

With diane-shop off ebay, if your hid ballast or bulb goes faulty then you need to send it to diane-shop in China/hong kong or were ever he's based so its going to cost more in shipping and hassle.

Stick to uk sellers.

I have done some reading up on this Faisal and it seems...
4300k are v.v.bright white light (most popular it seems)
6000k are v.bright white with a blue tint (what im going for)
8000k are bright white light with a very blue tint (prob the most u want to go for sake of reduced brightness)
10000k+ start to loose their useable light and are very blue/purple in colour (not sure the fuzz will be too impressed?)

This sound about right someone who knows ?

I heard they were a right pain in the arse to fit! Apparently they never seem to level up and u have to drill into the back of your housing unit for ur lights.

Any1 have any more info if this is true?

yes you have to drill the rear plastic cover of the headlights; but this removes so you can do it off the car with a 25mm cutter :) mine have levelled up fine; not problem at all. took me 30mins to fit.

dianes shop; h7 bulb; either 4300k or 6000k (I personally changed from 6000k to 4300k as I found the 6000k too blue.)

not many people bother with main - i personally have; but it is a faff having 4 ballasts, and not really worth it unless you live properly in the sticks like me :)
