In front of a PC....
Sorry if this is in the wrong place but noticed tonight that somone has stolen one of the metal valve caps off my alloys (driver side front) and not only that they only took the one!!
Annoyed now. I have even checked the area where the car was parked and couldn't find any sign of it :(
So had to go on ebay to find another set. Any idea on where I can get the one?
I thought it might of been missed by the garage when I picked it up but it was on the tyre last night as show by this pic

Go to a Seat/VW etc dealer they can order them for you (helps if you have the code, so try take another one off, and the code is on the back). You wont find these on ebay yet.

Caught some kids 'TRYING' to get mine, the only thing that stopped them was the fact I'd already changed them, due to one falling off already.

Keith,

As nice as the Ed 30 is, what were your reasons for buying one over a Cupra.

I like the Cupra and would def buy one but i like the ED30 more, Cupra has more power granted and is cheaper, standard spec is better but on the test drive the ED30 came out better.I am still justifying the price too myself but what the heck. The Cupra/FR models have a few niggles
The visibilty with the A/pillars
no tyre protection for the alloys
seat comfort on the Cupra
residules were not bothered about as this car is a long termer, i kept my last GTi for 3 1/2yrs and only changed it coz i needed a 5dr car.

The valve caps i got with my alloys are standard issue chrome ones.. seen them for sale in the local car shop and when i put a tyre in to get a puncture fixed I got a new one fitted by the garage which I only realised when i found the original in my pocket.. Are these fancier caps that you have lost. 4 for about £1.10 from the shop.

PS I just used megiuars wheels cleaner and a brush and the valve stems are now gleaming again.. I though they were corroded.

Nah, no Seat Logos on them at all. Just the bog standard ones.
But never to worry I found some lockable Seat Logo'ed ones on Ebay so they are on there way but would still like to find that thieving little chit as I think they might have scratched my driver side light front light cover.....[:@]

The same thing happened to me this time last year when I got my Reference Sport with the 18" alloys. Little [:@]'s stole one, then another two went missing that same week.

DON'T buy cheap replacements from Ebay - especially aluminium one's. I did and had to get the valves cut off and new one's fitted as the aluminium caps 'welded' themselves to the brass valve thread, and I couldn't get the caps off the inflate the tyre. I now run with black plastic caps - no-one steals them and to be honest, I don't really notice them now.

Best bet is to buy replacements from Seat if you want to keep the nice shiny caps rather than black plastic.

Yea that is what I have done. The ones that I got are official Seat ones. Like you said I might just replace the whole lot with black plastic caps instead and save the bother.
Said pikey turd might have scratched the driver's side door as well. Not really noticable but I know its there. Why do I bother sometimes.........

I have some locking ones coming in the post. So if I get them today then I am going to put them straight on. Wonder if can hook up some system that will give the pikey chavs/neds an electric shock if they come near my car??
You work hard and you scrimp and save for a your car and then this happens...some people!! :censored:[:@]
