Off the top of my head Spaniels and Fezboy has the VT 2 allard turbos, and Devonmikeyboy has the VT5 turbo on his Audi 2.0 TDI, also Devonutopia has an Allard turbo on his Fabia as well.

maybe speak to them for more info..

I'm after a higher VT turbo from Allards than my VT2. Still chatting to them a bit online. Trouble I have is they won't let me have a big turbo without them mapping it, which I don't want them to do. Nothing against their mapping but I don't see why I should shell out £400 extra odd, when Jabba can tweak my existing map. Jabba remapped my VT2, so reckon they could cope with a VT5 (which is the turbo I'm thinking of)

With the lpg and diesel being thrown in now, I think the extra volume a VT5 would push would clean up the smokey top end my car suffers from, and maybe get around 260bhp.

To get 260bhp...don't you need bigger injectors then??

And what about others cams?I heard that you can get up to 245bhp with other cams.

Sorry, I forgot to mention once Allards have tested their camshaft, I'll be the first one to be in there to get one. :D Thats almost more important than the turbo. I won't need new injectors as the PD130 injectors combined with the lpg already show they can fuel plenty as it is.... I just need to burn that fuel instead of chucking it out the back as smoke......

My mention of them mapping big turbos only comes from my experience. I'm sure if I was more forceful and said simply I wanted a VT5 with a 1.9 PD manifold posted to me, they would if I paid them for it. :) They did mention uprated oil feeds, etc, which I could also easily do myself if supplied with the pipework by Allards (happy to pay for)

I'm eager to see some results with other cams. Not planning on doing them myself but i'm just curious.

I forgot about the lpg.

I'm referring to the bit between the turbo and the engine, i.e where it bolts to and the four ports are covered by it. I'm seriously going to have to contemplate their hi-flow downpipe as well, as oem is pretty narrow.

Whats the lag like on the VT5?

I expect it would be pretty shocking, but would be worth it for the top end power. :) With a remap I guess the symptoms of lag can be worked around a bit, and like my current VT2, you can drive around the lag to a point as well.

Lag was something i was worried about but believe it or not the turbo starts to spin up at 2000-2200 rpm and is on full flow by 3000 rpm.:D
No headwork or cams done yet. Getting injectors fitted first now that the test one has been modified and flow tested, dyno for power then head and cam work so that i can see what power gains each mod has givern me.
