Hi there,

Im new to the forum, love my Seat's however never got around to owning one however the opportunity has come around at my local dealer to buy a Seat Leon Fr 2.0ltr petrol '06 plate. It has had one lady owner from new and has only covered 30,000 miles. FSH and serviced last week. MOT till next OCT 2011.

Its up for £9695 however are taking three hundred quid off that price throwing six months tax in and 3 months warranty.

Iv checked the value of the car on what car valuation and its come up at £8840 from a dealer.

How close is this valuation?I thought the price i was offered is decent and am tempted however do you think it is worth less??

Also if i look at buying it i will get it stage 1 remapped, which is the best for performance gains?

thanks

Dan

I think that's a bit high. I've got an 07 plate petrol FR with only 19k on the clock and all the valuation websites tell me to expect about £8500 if I sold it.

As for a stage 1 remap, about 240 bhp is the norm I believe.

Scotty..
you seem to have got your FR for quite a fair price with such low mileage.

im lookin for a RED FR and after having a look on autotrader the cheapest one is 8k with 80k on the clock. i wouldn't mind a yellow fr though.

how u finding the fr?

been looking for an FR for almost 2 months now - most 07/57 cars start around 9K right up to 12K! for trade sales. I want one with the Andromeda alloys and preferably with bluetooth. I can't find anything that fits the bill thats not the opposite end of the country. It seems hardly anyone went for the optional 18"s from new??

prezf : Im after a Tdi, i didnt know the petrol ones were so cheap. i was Goin to go derby today and look at a TDi Sport 140bhp , and he wanted 5,500 for that. it had a turbo changed and cambelt at the last service. i've got a new job just on the out skirts of Bham so a diesal would be ideal.

scotty - show us some pics mate, i really want a Red fr or a red tdi and put the btcc kit on. just trying to find the right one ....:(

Matt - it's annoyin trying to find the right car with everything you want within your budget ! :( ...

Whats your opinions Guys, because i relli want a red fr TDI and thinkin of puttin the btcc skirts and spoiler, or shud i just get a standard TDI black and put the WHOLE BTCC Kit On ..theres some nice ones our there on this site aswell ...

That would explain why then lol,

I can honestly say I would never buy a car that's been crashed and repaired even if it was a top end repair

Yes scotty mate, i do need a diesal. im sick of petrol cars, thought id give a tdi a try.
im swaying towards a red fr again now. with a budget of 7500. im going to have a look at the tdi sport once the weathers better and if i get it for the right price i'd get it . if not i guess the hunt for a red / yellow Fr is on :)

Car Hunting is sucha pain in the backside , hpi checks , questions , service history checks then the trip to see a car ! going to the bank to withdraw money!! the list is endless ! it's worth it in the end once you'v got a nice motor and ur happy seeing it on a sunday parked on ur drive ;):bleh:

Hi guys. Iv got a good price on my Insurance so iv Gone for the fr!! I'm thinking about getting it remapped in feb 2011. Iv also haggled 12 months warranty instead of three. Next I'm going to try and haggle the tax to 12 months Instead of 6!! See how that goes!

Thanks for the replies.

When I was looking for my FR, I found there were alot of 140bhp TDI references for sale with the BTCC kit, which look nice but I wanted the extra bhp plus the seats are sportier in the FR.
